Odyson Display Adhesive Replacement 2012 Mid Review

I was concerned that my screen might fall off like some other reviews but it has held up for weeks now. Top right wasn't an exact match, the section above the antenna was maybe an inch off center. I would take this set again if I had to remove the screen.

I've read from other reviews that this model feels tackier than other OEM parts. Well, it didn't feel that tacky. So I put a lot of weight on it within 24 hours before you put the screen back up after installation.I installed it two months ago and haven't had any problems so far.fingers crossed.

I think the negative reviews might be user error, I bought a pair of these and never had a crash and even had to reopen an issue for a whole month as soon as you If you know how to do that, you understand that you don't have to be afraid to open your iMac. BUT if you are not someone who can be careful or detail oriented. let someone else do it. You can easily throw away an expensive item.

Works as described. There is no indication of which piece goes where. Luckily YouTube has a video for it. The adhesive works so well that I found it almost impossible to remove the screen to reconnect the video cable. Since the strips were destroyed and this was the only set I bought I ended up using basting tape for the stitching which works even better.

I replaced the hard drive in my Mid 2012 27" iMac and they worked great to reinstall the screen. It's basically the same thing iFixit sells, but a lot cheaper. I have installed them for several months and they show no problems. Tip - just for my benefit - after installing and squeezing them together, I put blue tape on them for a couple of days just to let it stick (pun intended).

The latest version of these adhesive strips didn't stick at all. It's like a light "sticky tape". The surface was clean to the bone with alcohol evaporating cleanly. The tape should not be as thick and sticky as the original. The screen fell off in the middle of the night, falling to the floor and tearing cables from the motherboard. The seller is on his own. Avoid this product and stay away from Beetstech. There was also a problem with power failure from them. They did not offer a replacement.

About two years ago I hacked into my iMac to replace the hard drive. I sealed it with the tape that came with it. When I turned on the computer last week put another table the glass literally fell off. Luckily I carried it so that it didn't fall to the ground. I looked around and found this product suggestion. Received a few days ago, went to work, everything fitted perfectly and tightly. The jar looks firmly in place and I feel relieved!Highly recommend if you are in a pinch.
