🎨 ORACAL ORAMASK 813 Stencil Film: 12x20 Foot Roll for Precision Crafting Review

I haven't had any quality problems. It is better to fix something with a hair dryer. With heat and a soft-tipped tool, I can press this material into the grain of the wood in a way duct tape can't. Dryer. Pencil friendly!

What struck me right away was that this product doesn't stick well to wood unless preheated. It won't stick to anything that doesn't have a well sanded surface or MDF. I have used it with CNC and this product was useless for this application. I've seen this used with good results on lighter weight applications like plexiglass or glass.

I used this material on my Silhouette for making signs and other home decor. The only time I have trouble with this is when the wood is very grainy and then tends to bleed a bit. As long as the wood is well sanded and has a good primer it is very easy to work with and gives good results. Started with a 25ft roll to try and then bought a 100ft roll which I was probably halfway through already.

While this tight vinyl wrapping may be acceptable, the 813 MUST have a solid large roll inside! I bought as a last resort because my regular seller was booked again but I have to remind myself never to buy an 813 from Vvivid. This is my first cut from the roll and it's already sizzling, so the inside of this roll is just going to be garbage. Save your money and sanity and ask other buyers if your roll has a plastic or cardboard cylinder.

I was dying to like this because the Silhouette group that I admin love Oracal 813 and that's all they use. She doesn't buy them through Revain, which apparently is my fault. This throw is TERRIBLE for me, there are constant air bubbles that I can't push out which admin says never happens on their 813, and every little detail doesn't stick even when I reduce the speed to 1. Really annoying that I have 20 feet from this bullshit.

I am satisfied and impressed with it. I did a lot of research before ordering them. I've used cassette tapes and other vinyl records in the past, but they weren't good enough to withstand CNC scanning. This one holds up well. It's strong enough to stick and not tear, and also strong enough not to feel like a thick layer over it. When cutting on my CNC machine, the bit was absorbed by the adhesive of the above products. Between jobs I had to clean the racquet with acetone. Running with this mask was like a miracle.
