I was at a loss trying to get my new computer to recognize my second monitor. My new computer only had a VGA output and a few USB outputs. However, none of my monitors have an HDMI input. One of the representatives of a large computer network advised me to buy a VGA splitter. Bad, bad advice. It didn't work because my computer's VGA output can't carry a single signal, it can only duplicate it. After researching this for hours, I decided on this product. He does EXACTLY what he says! The…

Don't move the HDMI cable

I use this HDMI cable for work. I connect my laptop to a second monitor. The cord worked great for the first week. Then I noticed the screen dimmed a few times, but didn't understand why. Eventually I found out that it was because I kept unplugging my laptop. So if you want this cable to work properly all the time, DON'T UNPLUG IT! I read previous reviews but didn't listen because I really needed this cable at the time.

I lost all hope until I found this cable!

This cable solved a critical issue I had with my new Toshiba hybrid laptop. It only had one HDMI output. I do presentations and training all the time, and most projection devices only have a VGA input. This rendered my laptop completely unusable for the purpose I bought it for. I tried 2 other solutions from very well known brands without success. I've lost all hope. Until I found this cable! It worked fine when I connected my laptop's HDMI output to a VGA input on a TV or LCD projector. Now I…

  • Hard to say

It was only a week after that my monitor and computer weren't connecting as if it didn't recognize the cable. (A few weeks later) I received an email from Plugable Technologies saying I wanted a new cable to replace the broken one. So of course I said yes, and it's been ONE week and the new cable hasn't held up. The problem this time is that every time I turn the computer off and back on, I literally have to unplug and plug the cable back in to get my screen to appear. So when the screen turns…

Updated review in Computers and Accessories

Situation: I have connected my Lenovo Y50-70 laptop to my 39" Magnavox 1080p TV (and also my laptop) via HDMI->HDMI as my primary monitor at home screen used). a secondary one), but the image sharpness was terrible. The internet suggested many fixes like changing the login (on TV) to "PC" but my TV doesn't allow them to be renamed so after a few days of testing all the Blue Moon fixes I found gave up and decided to try, the only output connector on the laptop is an HDMI.) Pros: the picture…

Makes everything green

Makes everything green - not recommended unless you don't mind watching movies in full green. We tried it with a few different laptops and found the connection to be solid but still green. We connected a Lenovo Thinkpad and Lenovo Ideapad to an Optoma 10 projector, we've never had this problem with other adapters. We're happy when the manufacturer contacts us with a solution, and if it's resolved we'll be happy to adjust the rating accordingly.

Extremely useful for HDMI to VGA adapter

I didn't know I needed this product. I only ordered it because I figured it should be in my inventory when I build, test, or repair my computers (I have four and have been building computers for over two decades). But I realized almost immediately that I really needed it. In fact, it's so useful I'm anticipating ordering a second one. It looks and feels impressively solid. I would have given five stars if there hadn't been a problem. When I first used it, some of the VGA pins were bent. I've…

Works as described - so read the description!

I don't want to knock this product because it works, but not for my intended setup. So I think this is more of a "Be Careful" review because when the description says "Maximum supported resolution 1920 x 1080 (60Hz)" it's not just that. I have a new AIO desktop bought computers. and bought an external monitor a few days later. I stupidly forgot to check the inputs on each to make sure they were compatible. The desktop only has HDMI and the monitor only has VGA so I need to buy this cable. I can

This worked for me. for computers and accessories

"For me" applies here. The "right" adapter depends on your specific setup. I have a Roku 2 XS and I often visit a friend who only has a VGA monitor in the room I live in. I needed something compact (no external boxes or power supply) that would work. This option also eliminates the need for additional HDMI or VGA cables. The older Roku's specs were vague on HDMI port performance. Live chat with a Roku "rep" didn't help much. However, she consulted a Roku engineer who recommended a Roku 2.5A…

UPDATED REVIEW! on Computers & Accessories

UPDATED: I tried returning the product at first but the return period had expired so I decided to write a review instead. After I posted the review, I received an email from the company's customer service team. I believe this gentleman's name is Greg. He asked if there was anything he could do to help and please give him details of the issues I am having with the cable. I let it know it was working fine when I got it, but after that it worked intermittently and eventually just stopped working…
