It still works! on umbrellas

About 4 years after purchase I am writing this review to say it still works. A few months later, however, one of the levers broke when I was in a hurry to close the damn thing. These things still seem to work quite well after just losing an arm. *waiting for someone to invent a better umbrella*

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Communication with seller

The only good thing about this little umbrella is

The umbrella is broken. Mine received today won't open all the way without having to pull it to the open position. FYI, every Home Depot store sells it for less. The only nice thing about this little umbrella is the handle. It barely covered anything the first time we went out in the rain and the rope fell out of the grip for the first 15 minutes of use. DO NOT BUY! THIS PRODUCT IS GARBAGE!

  • super price

Good for light use - luggage and travel gear

They were good for occasional light use but after a year and a half of train trips to New York I had to throw them both away. The automatic opening mechanism on both stopped opening fully after a while. I had to shake it extra to fully seat the lantern. In addition, gusts of wind on the street would easily turn them inside out. Finally, it's not exactly a downside, but I found the canopy too small to offer any appreciable protection during a rainy commute to work.

  • Handy
Cons
  • Empty

Working but with some limitations

First of all please note that this is a small umbrella. This is for one person and then a little. But if you fit in, it will surely get the job done. Its extension/retraction mechanism is excellent and has never let me down. The beauty of retracts is that when fully extended, they retract. So if you get in your car and hold your umbrella out in front of the door when you push the button, you won't get wet like you're at the end of a pole. It also keeps out rain very well. Shake everything well…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn
