I have used this magazine set before but with vegetable tanned leather set and it was very easy to use and assemble! I updated the thread and used my better quality thread! Bought to see how it looks with oil tan.

Mech. It's a bit small but it says so in the description and I don't doubt it. What puts me off is that the product is advertised as real leather that "can be treated and dyed to your liking". When I received my product, all photos sold with it show real vegetable tanned leather, however it was already dyed medium brown. We got this for our third granddaughter's class presentation from a fictional friend of Sacajawea. It was perfect for the job. especially after she wrote her travel journal with a map and sketches of native plants, then aged the papers with coffee. Our granddaughter did great too and her teacher was impressed.

Good set. Came in dark brown leather so didn't need to be dyed which was nice as it was a gift for those who don't have leather items. But might disappoint someone if they want to do something colorful. This isn't a very durable journal, but definitely a fun, easy beginner's gift for creative people who enjoy drawing, journaling, etc.
