PS3 Keyboard - Music Controller

This is amazing. Love it. works perfectly. I didn't know anything about playing keyboards until I bought this one. It's easy and fun. The only problem I have is that I have to use both hands. and trying to play and use the shot is all but impossible. But I bought a kick pedal and it works like a charm. if you want to learn the keys. Playstation 3 is one thing. He also plays bass and guitar. and has a port for something called midi, haven't figured out what it is yet but will soon. You can also…

Pros
  • Two-octave design with 25 velocity-sensitive keys
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Almost like a real keyboard

In fact, this is a real, working MIDI keyboard. .Two octaves simultaneously. Rock Band 3 handles this with a panning mechanism that lets you pan this two-octave window left and right along a full-sized keyboard. It took a musician friend about thirty minutes to figure it out. However, this is only possible in Pro mode. You can also just use it in basic mode and press buttons in the four color-coded areas of the keyboard, just like any standard rock band controller. You can't beat the value if…

Pros
  • Use a midi keyboard as a controller if you don't play a rock band (compatible with most midi sequencers)
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Great fun, great addition to the game

I expected this keyboard to be lame. I just found out because when we party with our friends at our house, the rock band is set up in the back of the house so people can jump around looking for something to do. Since it's much more fun to play when more people can play, I decided to add an additional instrument. Haven't received the keyboard stand yet, but looks like it needs one to feel rocker. Setting up Prokeys is impossible for me and many of our friends were pleasantly surprised by the…

Pros
  • Plays real keyboard parts in The Rock Band Pro mode
Cons
  • Stock availability

A must for keyboard fans

Although it may look small and cheap, it's actually quite solid, and the buttons aren't. They're not flimsy at all, they're made of durable, hard plastic and won't break unless you pull on them. The keyboard spans two octaves, that's really all you need, otherwise it would be too complicated and you can turn it into a keyboard as it comes with a strap. The battery life also seems pretty good as I've been using it for almost a month and it hasn't even shown any signs of draining. If you're a…

Pros
  • Use as a MIDI keyboard controller when not playing rock band (compatible with most MIDI sequencers)
Cons
  • Available in white only

Great for rock band fanatics

I've worn out two of these since we bought Rock Band 3 for our PS3. I don't think this is a design flaw or anything; I'm just an active user. I'm a keyboard fanatic and play almost every day. (I know I'm sorry, I'm in my 50s and still playing games.) I'm completely upset that RB3 isn't releasing new songs anymore, and even more upset that the new PS4 Rock Band doesn't support playback, but it makes no difference. do with the quality of this product. I rock until I die! I found I could even use…

Pros
  • To use as a MIDI keyboard controller if you don't play a rock band (compatible with most midi sequencers)
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

A new, fun and challenging way to play rock band!

Sure, 24 keys might seem like a tiny keyboard, but it's a lot of fun playing this small amount. I highly recommend getting a stand or stable surface to set this up as it's not particularly comfortable to play like a "keytar". YMMV. The wide color bars you see in the image are used in Pro Keys mode; Only white keys are used for the default Keys mode (I think I honestly forgot to check the black keys in Keys mode, hehe). In the center to the right of the keyboard is a labeled set of keys. What…

Pros
  • Plays like a guitar or on a table
Cons
  • Doubt it

Month with PS3 Wireless Keyboard Controller

I bought a Rock Band 3 Wireless Keyboard for PS3 a month ago. As with all PS3 wireless controllers, setup is a snap. In this case, simply plug the dongle into the PS3, insert the batteries (handy supplied with the controller) into the back of the keyboard controller and it just works. As a lifelong piano and keyboard player, I was immediately excited about Rock Band 3's Pro Keys mode. After calibrating the controller with my audio/video setup, I was pleasantly surprised at the keyboard's…
