Terrible Quality Screws!

These screws from the "Fasteners" category in "Industrial and Scientific" are the worst I have ever had the misfortune of using .Through trial and error, I found that the screws were poorly cut, with many rounded heads, making it NEARLY impossible to screw them in properly. I can't find anything positive to say about these screws. The only good thing is that they come in a large quantity, but that's useless if they're unusable. Don't waste your money on these bad screws..

Pros
  • Comes in a large quantity.
Cons
  • Poor Quality.

Slippery Screws Easily Fall Apart

Based on our own experience with these industrial and scientific screws, we found them to be frustratingly slippery and difficult to handle. While the square cutting design may be attractive, it ultimately failed to keep the screws securely in place during installation. The stainless steel material did seem durable, but it was rendered useless by the screws constantly falling apart. We were extremely disappointed with this purchase and would not recommend it to anyone in need of reliable…

Pros
  • Durable stainless material for long-lasting use.
Cons
  • May require specialty tools for proper installation.

MUCH Too soft for general use

Maybe my fault but I assumed all stainless steel screws were the same hardness. These screws are relatively soft. This means that even with a square shank, they pop out fairly easily. I had to remove some of them after installation and found them bent while driving. UPDATE After 2 weeks I threw away the remaining screws. Approximately 20% cam speed. And after removing the 2 damaged vise screws I found that they were significantly bent in relatively soft wood. Something is definitely wrong here.

Pros
  • Deck Screws have a Type 17 (Auger) threading point for installation in deck materials. They have glass heads which allows the screw to dig into the surface of the wood
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
