SENA 30K-01 Motorcycle Bluetooth 🏍️ Headset and Mesh Communication System (Solo) Review

Battery life is good, speakers are unfounded but loud enough to be heard even with a non-original exhaust on your bike. The voice command feature is a joke and doesn't work as advertised, it doesn't recognize the commands you give it. It's about as bad as Siri was when it first came out. On one of my iPhones I have to go through the pairing process. every time.

I would give zero stars and burn them if I could. Sena stepped back with 30K. Unless everyone you ride with has 30,000, you can forget about listening to music and talking to them. Audio multitasking only works with mesh technology. A Sena spokesperson confirmed that the 30K's Bluetooth module is actually the same module as the SMH10, so you lose audio multitasking on a standard Bluetooth intercom connection.

Upgrading my 20S was a big mistake. You can't go 30, the battery doesn't last that long and after all the hype they sell at the dealers it's a piece of junk! The voice control never works, then the rotary switch is cheap, difficult to operate with bare hands, let alone travel. For the price they charge for this item, you might think it will be better than any previous model! Back to the breadboard for SENA

Many connection problems, not waterproof. Overpriced and I couldn't connect to my brothers Sena 10s. The speakers don't get very loud and it's difficult to hear music or podcasts when I've got earbuds and speeds over 50 mph. When I'm on the phone I have to be completely stopped to hear and be heard on the phone (not a big problem as I prefer not to talk and drive) but in an emergency it would still be nice to be able to make a phone call even at 20km/h . I do not recommend this product. All my friends have 20s and Sena told me on the phone that 30k and 20s are fully compatible but they really aren't. I've been warned that Sena has a poor track record with backwards compatibility, and it's true. The battery life is just terrible. We consistently had less than an hour of intercom time after charging all night. Had to use outlets on the trip. If you want to go to 30,000, there's absolutely no reason to. If you're looking for a new communicator, use the 20, okay? I'm from the 20's and I love it, it showed me the wonders of music, phone, gps and google assistant WHILE using the intercom with other drivers. The keyword is DURING. 30k forces you to turn off the intercom when you need to do something on your phone. I had 2 different BT communicators for $50. Both worked great. I bought 30k (that's the price) because a buddy I ride with said I blew in his ears every time I talked and 30k was cat meows. Once we receive it, we understand that the only groups you can really talk to are the 30,000 owners. Very limited to BT connections. We prefer BT over Mesh when riding without a large group. Biggest issue: Not waterproof and breaks after a few rains. What should we do when it rains? Drag and drop the entire block? I bought this product after a generally happy experience with 20S. I was very disappointed with this product and the lack of support from Sena. Pros: - Mesh just works. But it also kills battery life. - The app has audio mixer controls. - Not fully tested yet, but Bluetooth sound quality could be improved over 20S. Disadvantages: - Increased startup time.
