Didn't last a full year

We installed this in early October 2019 and now it's early May 2020. Luckily I was working in my studio when it blew up; literally. The clear screen had come loose from the black fitting, which had a small tear. A full flow of water flowed from the right side and was connected to the sink by my on-demand water heater. If we hadn't been there my studio would have been flooded. DISSATISFIED!

Pros
  • Very good price

Replaced on my Rpod caravan

I was surprised at how dirty mine was and that it was clogged with bits of plastic from the camper manufacturer's plumbing fittings. I suspect it was mainly because they drilled holes in the fresh water tank. The price was right just replacing the element and I noticed a big difference in water flow and pressure. The new one looked 10 times brighter than my used one. I've heard from a few people that they're notorious for cracking in the winter if they're not winterized. You might want to keep…

and it fits perfectly, inlet side is standard 1/2" pipe thread. I used a standard 1/2" garden hose adapter from Home Depot. It was a tight fit, so I didn't think it was the right thread at first, but using teflon threads and a little more torque (but still hand tight) I installed it with one 12v gel cell so I could run sprinklers and soak hoses from your water butts With water butts you definitely need a filter as you get algae and other random particles in your water line.

Clean up for the winter!

To prepare my fifth wheel for winter, I only drain the lines and don't fill in any antifreeze. But I do remove things that can be damaged by water retention and freezing, like the shower head, toilet valve, and the clear part of the strainer that holds the strainer. I leave all faucets and valves open, especially the bottom drain valves and water heater plug. Oh, I put a cup of antifreeze down every drain. Yes, I saw this firsthand, but after replacing these items for the first time, I saved…

I have to be clean

During our annual pest inspection of our caravan, we noticed that the water was not coming out of the taps, but in trickles. After reading the manual for the Shurflo pump we found out, well actually my wife, LOL the little filter was clogged. That's why we unscrewed it and cleaned it of green algae and garbage. Plugged it back in and the pressure was back. The filter is an important and rather fragile screen. So I decided to take a spare with me to have on hand. First stop and best price…

Fixed faucet inlet hose clog

I had a very frustrating problem with my bathroom sink faucet for over a year. There is a small mesh on both supply hoses, and the hot water side will be clogged with debris, causing a sudden pressure drop. I use city water but there must be something in my hot water system that is causing this. So for a while I had the frustrating routine of going under the sink, turning off the water, disconnecting the supply hose and flushing the screen. It was a great pain. I bought this item to make…

Was hoping to find a strainer with 3/4 " connections but does the trick.

A cottage that draws water from a lake and can sometimes suck in grains of sand or other small debris that can cause problems in the faucet, fill valve, toilet tank or non-return valve on the pump. I was hoping to find this in a 3/4" size to fit my water line and pump inlet fittings, but I didn't list a 3/4" fixture so I had to use 3/4" to 1/2 in. The promotional information for this filter claimed that it "screws directly onto the pump head," which seems to indicate that the male pipe thread…
