Poor quality bananas

Poor quality bananas. Five of them broke from the weight of the cable alone. Annoying to then fish out the fragments from the connecting rods. I contacted the manufacturer with a warranty claim but received no response.

Pros
  • High quality construction
Cons
  • So-so

Disappointing plugs but good cable

For the price I'd still say you get more bang for your buck than going to your local electronics store and buying a small fortune for not much more , with quality point of view. However, they still broke after a month or two of use. I was rather disappointed but not surprised. The forks appear to be cheaply made and assembled. I was happy with the cable but it doesn't help me with a plug.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not bad

Build quality and safety

At home I only use 12 AWG speaker wire. It's not about whether I "should" use 12 AWG. The build quality is excellent, the banana plugs are solid and fit snugly into my speaker and power amp jacks. The sound quality is exactly what I expected, open, clean with all the depth I expect from my audio source (digital files, CD, vinyl and film). I don't hear any crackling or static from my speakers. I like that the cables are wrapped in black. Some reviewers mention bad smell but not me, I bought 3 of

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Easily wrinkled

Having just upgraded/upgraded from my old stereo to a surround sound system, sound quality was always an issue as my old stereo had high audio file quality. Even speaker cables were exceptionally expensive. In the new system (with Martin Logan speakers) I used my original speaker cable as it was very heavy and good quality. I had no idea the sound quality had improved so much since replacing that old cable with this vastly improved product! I am a happy customer, now I have both my audiophile…

One cable, you need 2!

Attention! This is one cable per speaker. I only ordered one at first. I bought these because I had already made over 200 feet of speaker wire myself using Monprice wire and banana plugs and the plugs had lost their seal. I plan to replace those forks with these when I like them. My first set of pre-wired cables were Sewell Deadbolt banana plugs and one of these seems to be giving me short circuit symptoms. They claim these are their longest lasting cables so I decided to give them a try. They…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Discontinued model

Provides better speaker control

Damping factor is the ratio of speaker impedance to amplifier and cable impedance. A higher damping factor provides better control over the speakers. Thick short cables help maintain a high damping factor, long thin cables do the opposite. 6 foot Silverback 12 gauge vs 24 gauge speaker cable: Cable Impedance: 0.019 ohms vs 0.313 ohms. 16x Better Overall Damping Factor with Lab Amplifier (HP 467A): 333 vs. 25. 13x Better Overall Damping Factor with Parasound 1000A: 275 vs. 24, 11x Better…

WOW! like super flexible connection cables for my speakers!

These are simply amazing speaker cables. I have an amp with banana plugs, speakers without them and was willing to just snip off the other ends, but WHAT A BONUS - these cables have a couple of set screws in each banana plug (as opposed to soldered or crimped). This allows them to be completely removed and reinstalled if I ever buy new speakers with banana plugs. How cool is that?!? So these are really, really thick cables with lots of (apparently 250+, I didn't count) tiny, real copper wires…

The pins fall out.

I don't know how to attach the banana pins to the base but they will definitely fall out. I was lucky I didn't short out my amp and was able to pull the pins out of the speaker and amp jacks. I would be very upset if they damaged the $10,000 amp or the speakers. Shame as they initially looked like a decent cable. I bought 2-10ft and 2-6ft and now I don't know what to do. My options are: 1. Ask for new wires under warranty (not sure if I want to go through that again) 2. Crimp or (maybe better)…

Great cables!

I've bought five of these so far: two for each of my main Biamp speakers, one for the center channel. My main speakers are B&W CM8S2 and I prefer bi-amping. Since copper is a thin strand, these cables are very easy to handle and do not kink. They wrap properly in loops rather than tightly coiled like cheap cords, allowing you to straighten or bend the wire. This is 12 gauge wire, so it's a lot larger than what most people are used to hearing about speaker wire. It's probably more than what's…
