Stylish but tinny music, quality

Bought for the kitchen. Looks great, but the sound is lame. Plays my CDR/RW perfectly. I don't have the hiss that other reviewers have mentioned. It's hard to tune into the few radio stations that exist here. I wish I had bought a bulky but great sounding boombox.

Bad sound, low volume

I bought this CD player thinking I could take it on vacation but found the sound quality to be poor and the volume low. The CD mechanism is also weak. (One good note - the radio reception is excellent.) If you're looking for a lightweight travel solution, I recommend the Walkman and travel speakers - the Sony SRS-T77 travel speakers are pretty good.

The best of the many we have tasted.

I tested 5 different CD players for my father who lives in a very cramped nursing home. The sound had to be the best I could find for the size, which had to be very small, and the buttons had to be simple enough for him to learn how to use the controls through touch, being blind from macular degeneration. This little marvel of the machine is perfect! Now he enjoys listening to music from the early 1900's and at 97 he looks like a kid who's been given the best new toy while driving unaided…

Click/His Noise

I just bought this unit from a local dealer and was extremely disappointed with the CD playback. Right out of the box, when I put the CD in, it hissed and clicked. I've tried several CDs (both RW and standard) and haven't noticed any change in the click sound. This unit was purchased to play quiet music in a work office and the clicks certainly overwhelm the music at lower volumes. After reading the reviews here I realized I'm not the only one with this problem. Given the number of people who…

Good form factor, poor quality

I bought one of these 9 months ago because I liked the size. The compact design makes it easy to leave on the kitchen table or anywhere else and carry around the house. Unfortunately, even with occasional use when playing CDs, the CD motor began to emit a loud hiss, making the unit unsuitable for playing CDs. Sony only guarantees 90 days of labor, so they told me it would cost me $42 labor plus shipping to service this unit. While I don't expect a CE supplier to guarantee and support their…

Great for AM/FM, crap for CDs.

I bought this radio to use on the bathroom shelf which meant the radio had to be small and it was perfect. However, after very little use, the CD player had difficulty loading CDs and sometimes wouldn't play them at all. After a while I gave up and just started using my old radio and putting it on the floor. I got it back the other day and damn it if it hasn't completely broken in two weeks. It just stopped loading CDs completely. First I had to tip him sideways to get her to play and then he…
