I ordered this radio based on positive reviews. Unfortunately I am not very satisfied with the device. AM reception, as mentioned, is terrible, but even when you can pick up a good station, the sound is fuzzy and muffled. The FM stations are clear and the sound is normal. Not exactly what I was looking for, but the body and radio are attractive.

Great office/living room radio. Attractive "wooden" body with simple controls and warm tone with good volume and sensitivity. A few minor negatives are the lack of a dial gauge or speaker-out jack, but you really won't miss these features if you use the radio for background music or talk stations and don't fiddle with the setup all the time. A quality radio that will accompany you for a lifetime.

This Sony table radio is a throwback to the good old days - a great radio. Excellent reception and sound of incredible quality simply fill the room to infinity. One suggestion: keep the radio away from other devices for AM reception. I was planning on having this radio on my desk but the computer/monitor was interfering with AM reception. It's a small sacrifice well worth it. This radio looks like it was built to last and I'm sure it will work that way.

I bought this radio with "Santa Rosa Electronics Fan" (below). I also have bad reception at home. I'm changing between three FM stations and found it frustrating to tune in between them due to poor reception. Either I receive two stations at the same time or I get a lot of interference. You have this chunky box radio with sharp edges and NO handle! And for some reason the engineers didn't even think about adding a telescopic antenna for VHF reception. Last time I tried it AM reception was BYYMIC! Couldn't even make legs for it so it can be used on a carpeted floor (e.g. MINE) or at least the instructions don't say so.
