Easy install on RV Parts and Accessories

Had to replace my Atwood propane only hot water tank in my van. The new one was with me the day after I ordered it. It fits perfectly in my caravan. You'll either have to keep the outer cap or get a new one because it doesn't come with it, but that wasn't a problem as my old one went on with no problem, also you'll need to get an old water line with a 1/2" male thread adapter on the Back of your old heater. One of mine broke when I took it off but local hardware has it.The new tank worksโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Minor issues

Forget connectors

I received the unit and found that the 1/2 inch connector was not included. I was able to get the fittings from Lowe. I installed the block with little effort, but the anode rod leaked while filling the heater. I removed the anode rod and applied more pipe tape but it still leaked. I removed the rod again and wrapped the thread in more tape. The next morning there was water in the pan. I put in the old rod from the old heater and there was no more leakage. I contacted Revain and they asked meโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice to use

It works ! Suitable for water heaters, parts and accessories

Exact copy of specified heater replaced. I was fortunate to have room on the back of the heater to maneuver the connections. It was difficult to run the gas line parallel to the heater and connect the propane to the regulator. Just be patient and work on this procedure. Make sure you use a good quality exterior sealant when fitting the front panel to the sides of the trailer and allow it to dry before starting the new heater. (wait a day) Delivers very hot water quickly using either propane orโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • No performance

If the packaging is not perfect, send it back.

The heater itself was replaced one for one. I had to purchase fittings, PEX, and other small parts to reattach the plumbing. The package arrived open and a day late. Revain has credited our account for next day delivery. The problem was in the packaging. The damaged electronics were invisible and barely perceptible. The plastic lid was a clue but seemed harmless enough. After installation and many attempts to start the heater, there must have been a reason for the system to light up and thenโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Very expensive

12VDC are absolutely necessary! Even if you connected it to 120 VAC

The schematic was the best part of the manual. Also, I had to go online and call a technician to get answers to my installation questions. The overall quality of the heater is excellent! Now that it's installed and running on both electricity and gas. I just want to throw it out. If you want to install it on an older model trailer you will need to connect an independent 12V power line to the heater. That's the only way the DSI system works, if you don't have 12v you can't run this heater onโ€ฆ

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Factories; Poor quality control

This was my first water heater installation and replaced the existing one in my Lance Truck Camper (due to age). the following flaws: - approx. 6 ground screw holes (each one I "fixed" the hole by taking apart everything that was attached to it, then using a center punch around the edge of the hole to back it up a bit"stuff" so that the screw might "bite") - cut the insulation off the large red wire going to the controller (this is a packaging issue as the sharp edges of the device sheet metalโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • High price

Not a quick job if not a direct replacement for the same model.

The block in my build was an old 6 gallon suburban block that didn't keep catching fire when hot water was used. Tired of cold showers so I bought this along with the parts listed in the 'Often bought together' section. Butyl was needed but the dash remote switch was a waste of money. This device is not equipped with a relay, which is required to use the switch. You will also need to connect a 110 volt plug. Luckily, my ice maker, which I don't use, is right next to the water heater on a 20 amp

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
