So convincing that my installer placed two of these in spots where we needed real cameras.

These dummy cameras do exactly what they are supposed to do. They are like their real colleagues in everything. I ended up having to break the bad news to my installer that he had placed this dummy camera in a place where it was supposed to be live. It's great for saving some money by installing it in hard-to-reach spots or in places where you want some sort of deterrent but don't need to install an additional camera.

Requires power option

These are good solid cameras that look like real Swann camera bodies with the camera removed and the cables cut. I would give this 5 stars if they left the power cord intact so the intact LEDs actually work in the dark giving the appearance of a real working camera. Since they are there, no one in the dark would even know they were installed, defeating the purpose of the dummy camera. They do their job well in daylight or in a well-lit area.
