Great details and fun animals

I have been working with cross stitch for many years and would not recommend this as a first project. The template is pretty small for my old eye, so I've enlarged the different sections to make them easier to read. Doesn't give instructions on how to actually cross stitch and as such I wouldn't recommend it as a first or second project. Love the bright colors and the fact that the colors are already separated and mapped for easy access - so no guessing!

Pros
  • Beautiful packaging
Cons
  • Available in white only

A little disappointing.

Still working on it after a year but finished by my grandson's first birthday in November. I think it will look very nice when finished and decorated. However. The colors are not as bright and clear as they should be and I don't think this is a very high quality floss. The variety of symbols could have been a lot better - I've been sewing cross stitches for 40 years now and this might be the worst chart I've ever tried to follow. I had to make enlarged copies of the illustration as the font was

The colors provided do not match the design and are poorly reproduced

I love this cross stitch, I'm halfway through now and it looks great. However, this is sold as a complete set. It is clear that some colors will be replaced with what they have. I have just installed blue blinds and as you can see from the attached photos the LT blue, blue and dark blue provided to me are almost indistinguishable from each other. I have now replaced LT and dk blue from my own backups and kept the original blue to get closer to the deep colors shown in the design. It's fine if…

I wasn't working and I was very bored.

I wasn't working and was very bored. I remember learning cross stitch as a kid and deciding to start a cross stitch project. I had no idea how much work that would mean! I needed what felt like an eternity. I'm telling you, I've worked countless hours on this. I've thought about giving up a million times, but I was too invested. Remember I have no children! I started this because I put him in his/her room when I decided to have a baby. I started this in March 2014 I think and didn't finish it…

Nice finished product

I made this for a friend's child and it turned out beautifully! Although it took some time to complete, the pattern is easy to follow and there are only whole stitches in the entire pattern (no half or quarter stitches). My only complaint is that I prefer to work with DMC brand cross stitch threads as they don't knot as easily as this brand of thread. I agree with some of the other reviewers that it takes a little time to "set up" and start sewing; I personally separated each color into…

It is possible to choose a different design.

I'm a cross stitch veteran so take my advice. The cross stitch grid I follow is very small. There are many changes to the carving, and the difference in the characters is very small and difficult to see. It also has about 4 lines that are not playable. The lines are crumpled up - almost as if they were folded when copied. I've missed the whole line so far and had to remove the stitching to fix it. Further down these rows I can't tell WHAT stitch color to use. I have to improvise. The thread…

Looks good but be careful

Wow I finally finished it for my grand nephew who is now almost 2 months old. I had no idea it was going to take around 300 hours (yes, you read that right) otherwise I would never have started. Also, I've made a lot of cross stitch kits and I've NEVER had a kit that was so stingy with thread. I've run out or nearly run out of almost all colors. Luckily I had a lot of embroidery floss left over from other kits to use. The company says you can contact them for more information, but who wants to…
