Convert Mobile CB Radio to Base Station

Not sure if I bought mine from this seller or not. or side CB radio to base station. I plan to use it when it's my only way of communicating with others. When the internet is down etc. I usually play in the side band and don't listen to a lot of people these days. But in an emergency it will be great.

Pros
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
Cons
  • Damaged

Parts are missing but work fine

Tripp Lite PR3/UL 3A DC Power Supply, 120VAC Input to 13.8VDC Output This power supply is shipped with the isolation nuts for the connectors missing. In my case it wasn't significant since I throw them away anyway, but it does indicate the lack of quality control of Tripp Lite. The unit works well and provides a stable 13 volt DC power supply. Works well with the low-interference RFID electronic readers I use.

Pros
  • Computer Accessories and Peripherals
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

Bought mine 28 years ago - still works

Highly adjustable 13.8v output. Use it for radio and projects. overcurrent protection. Bought mine from a radio station in New York a few months ago and it still works. It fueled my CB, college mockup projects and DCC model trains. Charging mobile phones and the like with 12 volts. I only paid €18.95 back then, but that was enough so far. The device is linear with a transformer and will NOT switch. Very clean HF.

Pros
  • Computer accessories and peripherals
Cons
  • boring packaging

For Converting Mobile CB Radio to Base Station

Not sure if I bought mine from this seller or not but I bought one of these power adapters to power my mobile CB radio or side CB Radio set to base feed station. I plan to use it when it's my only way of communicating with others. When the internet is down etc. I usually play in the side band and don't listen to a lot of people these days. But in an emergency it will be great.

Old but good

My PR-3UL was made in 1987, I bought it cheap at a flea market probably 10 years ago. The design is a simple inline design with a 2N3055 transistor mounted on a large rear heatsink for the final output stage, so it should be able to source a full 3A of continuous current. Internally it has one Fuse on AC low voltage side. The output voltage has dropped slightly after so many years of operation at 14V instead of 13.8V, which is not bad for all the time. There is a POT that I used to set the…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
