Yes, you need a cupcake

I had to pump out the trash on my RV. This is what you need to get started and it works like hell with no issues and no leaks. Did its job and am very happy with this part!

  • Great for a small house

Works great to change your RV's sewage hookup to connect.

Excellent for replacing your van's waste water outlet with a septic tank. A stock 3" ABS slip pipe thread mates with this Valterra part, and a stock 3" to 4" PVC adapter allows connection to a 4" PVC pipe that connected to the septic tank. Please note that this ABS part is not available for PVC parts. That's why you should use both types.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Quality

Works fine when new. Sunlight destroys plastic fast!

Works great as it has four teeth that mesh tightly unlike other brands. Tight seal with no leaks, which is essential for the robust installation of your RV! The only problem is that the plastic material isn't immune to RV damage and will break down if exposed to direct sunlight. After two years, the teeth started to crack and two of them came loose and leaked, forcing me to replace them. It's so cheap I bought another one.

Pros
  • Consistent test results

  • Crumpled

An absolute must for a tough sewer line

I bought one of these for my RV this summer as I have a seasonal batch and decided to convert my sewer line to a 3" ABS pipe connect plastic. I've seen many jurors tamper with connections and they all "stink". People use tape, clips, glue and all sorts of other methods to connect the ABS pipe to their RV's bayonet mount. These installations stink and leak every time a reset occurs. liquid and non-stinky sealant. These adapters cannot be found locally so I have ordered three more and will be…

Works with modifications

The device works, but not in the form supplied. The seal is too short. When you twist it to tighten it won't sit on the hard RV tube. You may feel like it isn't sealing properly as there is little to no pressure when turning. I was leaking from the start and no reinstall or adjustment wiggle was able to fix it. I went to a fleet store and bought an RV drain line gasket kit for about $4 a kit. Replaced the adapter washer with a new larger washer and it fits snugly and is noticeably harder to…

Fingers are very weak

This product seems like a good idea but it is really poorly constructed where it attaches to the 4 pins of the exhaust connector. The pins are too far apart (too large inside diameter) and bend easily, so they can crack or leak at the slightest torque. It attaches to the Valtera valve and their valve is solid but it isn't. This thing gave me some trouble when I was trying to hardwire a 3" PVC pipe to a trailer and the thing kept shifting and popping out of its mount. Use a Valterra valve, then…

Much better than the competition.

I always see people rate the tightness of the pad gasket. Here's the thing: Not all sewer connections are the same on every RV. should be, but let's be honest. Some van manufacturers use cheaper parts than others, and some of those parts don't go through strict quality control. The end result is that the grips that the bayonet is designed to snap into are not always the same distance from the edge of the seat. Exit. There will always be minor discrepancies. With all this, my mobile home has two

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

  • Not as thick as other options
