Great addition to your tackle box.

finally got it yesterday and used it. lots of fun and nice to use to explore new fishing areas. Used it for 6 hours straight, ended up using half of each battery. He had a super heavy rod with 50lb line and I could toss it in the pond fishing as far as I wanted and not have to worry about a loner or anything. very good addition to my small boat and for bank fishing

Pros
  • good thing

Bring spare batteries

When I received the device two weeks ago I put new batteries in the display. I charged the float sensor the night before I went ice fishing. I put the transducer in the water and after about 5 minutes the batteries in the display went dead and I had a quick look at the depth and the fish under my hole. Slightly disappointing as the device shuts off when not in use but drains the batteries significantly. When he worked, he looked pretty good.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Security

Great little tool: depth finders and fish finders

I really liked this fish finder. it works well and I would recommend it to other kayak fishermen. I attached the sensor to the string and spring clip and just dropped it in the water. Block I placed in a car phone holder that attaches to my kayak and holds a portable screen block. works perfectly. The only downside I found was the battery life of the handset. It takes 4 AAA batteries, which run out pretty quickly. I only carry a new set with me and everything is fine. I really love this littleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • A few little things

everything worked as advertised

loved all of its features, great price, arrived quickly ahead of schedule. Works well and is easy to use, like temperature and depth readings. It was fun to use, there were a lot of fish in the lake, only one problem, the fish didn't bite, used everything in my arsenal, caught 2. The whole lake was very slow but we had fun trying it we knew there were fish in the water so it didn't matter how long we stayed we both caught 2 each. otherwise we would have gotten zero we would have left earlierโ€ฆ

OK but not great - Sonars and Depth Sounders

Good concept and price but not quite a match. I've been to the local lake where everyone knows the depth is 56ft but reads 72ft. It shows fish, but every day I've used it I haven't caught a single fish (and I usually catch a few) so I can't vouch for the accuracy of this part. The ugliest part of this is when you're over a structure like a tree or stump and it just shows that the depth suddenly gets a lot shallower; it doesn't show the structure, so you have to guess what's where. It's fun toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Some issues

That thing is pretty bad!

So when I received it I took it to our nearby pond for testing. Thought this would be the perfect place to try as I am VERY familiar with this pond and the behavior of the fish. I tossed it to one of my usual trout fishing spots and waited about 10 minutes. The fish didn't show up. So I took it to the main pond where most of the fish swim. It was wonderful! I could tell from the fish on the screen if it was sunfish, trout or perch. He showed a large perch sitting at about 5 feet depth. Decidedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Great little car for walking - great seller support

Bought to have while kayaking and kayaking or fishing from the shore. I think it would be good for ice fishing too, but we don't have much of that in Florida where I currently live. I had some questions about getting a PDF copy of the user manual with microscopic writing and my 60 year old eyes can't read it. They replied a few hours later and tried to get it for me but explained that there were different electronic sub-models in the circuitry and software design and it was impossible to tellโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
