Lower version than previous sheet fed scanners

This scanner is slow, won't scan paper longer than 11 inches (previous scanners were up to 30 feet) and just not as convenient. Sell XP 100 and reinstall NT Strobe. On the plus side, the Paperport software is great for paperless printing, and the XP 100 is lighter and smaller than its predecessor. Suitable to take along with a laptop for sending faxes. If you don't have a laptop, do yourself a favor and buy a Strobe NT. It works well with Win XP after updated drivers are downloaded.

Visioneer Strobe XP100

I first got to know Visioneer/Paperport at work. My office decided to provide each customer with a sheetfed scanner to place in front of their monitor. With scanners, accounts payable documents were scanned and forwarded as required, which relieved internal mail. Accounting eventually followed suit so invoices to customers could be scanned for approval. It eventually "spread" to other departments in the company. I am now retired and have an all-in-one printer at home, but it doesn't have the…

Some are good, some are bad.

I bought this scanner to go paperless with all but the most important documents. With this product in combination with PaperPort 9.0 Deluxe, I achieved this goal faster than with a conventional scanner. This enabled me to scan and shred thousands of documents - a welcome organizational relief. The model takes up very little space and I can scan my documents in seconds. I like that I can scan receipts and small sheets, which would be a problem for a good sheetfed scanner. Generally, my documents

small size makes it ideal for new niche applications

EDITED: After a year of use, my previous statements were overly optimistic. The hardware seems as good as it gets, but the software is ridiculously buggy and unreliable. ---------------------------------------------- First, это не планшетный сканер; so have one ready. It's also not a high-speed sheet feeder; Don't try to use it for these purposes and you'll be fine. SOMETIMES. Ideal for mobile scanning - the kind of scans you take when you go to a library, office or anywhere else. Use it as a…

Use some common sense. the best in office electronics

A GOOD rating to follow! First, it is NOT the best choice for PERFECT scanning of photos or delicate documents. It works great with photos and newspaper clippings and ONLY works with letter-size color or black and white material. It scans flight/fax, OCR or color images at up to 600 dpi. If you are careful, you can easily feed sheets into this machine. Be patient. It has a built-in software application that allows you to conveniently scan multiple consecutive sheets into one document. But you…

Small, perfect for digital archiving

Let me clear up a few mistakes that other people have made in their reviews: 1 - This device is ABSOLUTELY 100% compatible with Windows XP. I use it on a Windows XP, SP2 machine and it works fine. 2 - All scanners with a sheet feeder can have misfeeds - this is due to the design. I have had other sheet fed scanners and can confirm that this particular scanner is not unique to this issue.3 - The XP 100 has gone through several releases. This version of Revain is the latest model. Some reviews…
