works best as expected under Notebook Accessories

It does what it's supposed to do. It would be nice if the parts of the legs weren't plastic and if there were more pads in the kit to glue the part that comes into contact with the laptop. I don't know why people complain about straps. Each strap is 20 inches long. When they arrive, both are bound to each other. I didn't realize it until I started using it. Looks very solid as long as the plastic legs hold up.

Terrible design. I couldn't believe it.

The extensions on this stand are cheaply made and are designed to ride on rails on the underside of the main body, which means they are *lower* than the main body of the stand, meaning they can be rotated under the stand and do not snag on the edge of your laptop, especially if your laptop has a beveled edge (like mine). It was like this holder hated my laptop and tried to spit it out. Do not worry. Get the desktop app.

Won't hold my 15 inch laptop in place

I have an HP 15 inch laptop that weighs only 5 pounds and is not holding it in place. And this despite the fact that the straps on the laptop are very tight. The bottom corners aren't big enough and the laptop slides when I change the angle of the laptop in any way. When I push it away, the laptop slips behind the stand. The only way I could use it would be if I only ever touch the stand itself to move the laptop and that would be way too uncomfortable. I wish I could keep it but it just didn't

Great unlimited air for fans and very safe.

I use this with my 2019 Razer Blade 15 Advanced laptop. I have three monitors connected to my laptop and use it to mount my laptop over my monitors. Since the entire bottom is open for unrestricted airflow, it's really nice when I'm running my development codes or playing one of my big games that push the laptop to its limits. It's better than any mesh bottom bracket for its size and for how it really allows free airflow to the fans. Why is there more metal if you don't need it? I don't really…

Thumbs up and thumbs down

Bought this device for much needed desk space. I use it with an adjustable monitor arm to carry my Acer NItro 5 laptop, which it actually does very well. The block itself is strong, holds its position well, unobtrusive. I don't even need to use the straps that come with it. I appreciate the X's design, which keeps the laptop well-ventilated. I would put it higher if not for one but. This is not a new unit. I suppose you could call it a return and resell it. I received it along with some other…

Excellent laptop holder

It holds my 13" MacBook Pro with no problems (although it's a fairly thin and light computer). The open design seems to keep the laptop cool. Pads are for the lower ones "Legs" provided where the edge of the laptop sits, which helps prevent slipping. A velcro strap usually seems unnecessary, but I still use it for extra security, mostly in the case of the VESA end of the arm it's mounted starts to tilt down. A small detail that could have been better is that the velcro straps are twisted very…

It works - it held my heavy 17 " laptop - but it has flaws

I gave it a four star rating for getting the job done for as long as I needed it - it held the laptop for me (my laptop was heavy - Asus ROG g751jy - 17 inches and almost 10 lbs!), but all the flaws that others have pointed out are there - the tabs on the bottom that are there to hold the laptop in place to hold and prevent it from slipping out. not big enough and when your laptop is tilted like mine it just slides off those tiny ledges and slides off. They give you velcro to hold it in place…

  • ease of use
Cons
  • sparse instructions
