Not Category 6, only 100 Mbit/s, not 1 Gbit/s

Attention buyers, this is not Category 6! I ran this cable for an access point and only got 100Mbps. Cut another cable to test, same results. Tried it on my laptop, same result.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • No

Good, but sticks sometimes when I take it out of the box

This is a good wire that strips easily. But sometimes it gets twisted when I take it out of the box and I have to tease it to make it work again. It's really uncomfortable crawling through the ventilated insulation in the attic.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Know what you get!

I've run a lot of network cables over the years. This CAT6 cable was terrible. The individual strands are very brittle and easily break during processing. Made traction very difficult. middle seal shit! It's thin and crumpled, and then to take it off it stretches like rubber. Don't do this unless you have a VERY straight line and are drawing an old design.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Clarity

Great Product - Ethernet Cable

I received the cable the other day. I went through 2 runs and the cable was very easy to work with and didn't tangle. The cable is slightly thicker than a CAT5/5E cable, possibly due to the plastic twisted pair separator that runs down the middle of the cable. The spacer didn't really affect the crimping of the cable ends, which was an issue. I ran a speed test after installing the cable and got great results. I definitely recommend this cable.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Works well, pulls easily into line

Generally satisfied. Walked 250 feet on smurf pipes (in the wall) and hard pipes outdoors. Everything went smoothly. I just had to reconnect, and that's probably just because I didn't know how to use the punch tool. Surprisingly I managed to get 4 of these Cat 6s in parallel with 1 rg6 in a Smurf 3/4 tube. Note that this was a short track with a 90 degree turn and no POE, but I fully expected there would be a congestion and I would have to run a parallel channel instead.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Almost never

Not certified to Cat6 or Cat5e.trash

I am a professional low voltage wiring installer and have been in the field for over 25 years. This is by far the worst cable I've ever used. It pulls well out of the box, but none of the cables I've installed are Category 6 certified. They're not even Cat5e certified. I was able to get through 4 pieces of 28ft, but barely. We used Superior Cat6 panels and Hubble Cat6 connectors. Also the end of Cat6 mod will not pass. I had to replace the entire cable with Home Depot's Southwire Cat6 and itโ€ฆ

Great price and RELIABLE COPPER!

I was delighted to find category 6 solid copper wire (non-CCA) in boxes less than 500 feet long. I'm adding Category 6 cable to my house and needed to make some connections to my outdoor security cameras. I like being able to make cables to the exact length I need. It's much easier without pulling the ends of the cable. This cable is easy to work with, handles corners well and fits well through conduit. I have zero complaints about him. I wasn't always very careful when pulling this cable andโ€ฆ

Great product for ethernet cables

Just walked 170ft from this stuff and can see it downloads faster than a Category 5 PC less than 5ft from the main switch . .I ran this cable through some pretty tight turns and bends and through a very tight hole in the concrete and a couple of times I was worried I was going to overdo it but no the cable held up. The only point of criticism is that the cable bends slightly when unpacked. I would give 4.5 stars if I could as there was a small issue. For those who are still buying cables, makeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Computer accessories and peripherals
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

I bought this primarily for a 70ft run around my cave through cable boxes, no sharp corners or pinch points. Pretty easy. I made a 2 foot speed test patch cord and got gigabit speeds but with a lot of variability. I don't have a cable tester and used an old laptop with a hard drive to test network speed and that explains it. I've also removed three switches and a long-standing CAT6 network from my NAS, but I've seen theoretical peak speeds for gigabit networks. I was running a 70 foot networkโ€ฆ
