absolute junk for shields

This is sticky, inflexible junk, incomprehensible. It leaves a sticky residue that you can see underneath with all kinds of bubbles and smudges. This is not automotive quality and should be removed from flash memory immediately. No way did they make this product. this is none other than your car vinyls which i bought to protect.

REST IN PEACE! It's NOT 7 million!

Bought this product based on claiming it was 7 mil thick (see description). When I first opened the package and looked at it, it didn't seem that thick compared to the 3M film I had on hand. My micrometer reading confirmed my guess (see picture). You are fooled into thinking you are getting 7M. THAT'S ONLY 4.5 MILLION! Maybe they measure it with a paper pad? If you only need 4 mil then you're fine. DO NOT BUY if you want good quality 7mm film protector!

Suitable for alternative uses

We used this film to repair a cracked Lexan window in a motor home. The application was a bit tricky, but with patience we got a result that we are happy with. However, we installed the film at a relatively high altitude in cool, overcast weather. Once we returned to a lower altitude and the window was exposed to direct sunlight, the tiny, imperceptible bubbles under the film expanded and became much more visible. However, this film offers a decent look and seems to be holding up well. I…

Keep an eye out - Guard

Benefits - Easy to cut. Relatively cheap. Cons - Thin and cracks/cracks when handling difficult surfaces. The ash doesn't seem durable enough for the outdoor use it's intended for. I also doubt self-healing from anything other than being hit by a large bug. When a small rock hits a surface covered with it it's really a great benefit as it will hold the chipped paint in place until you remove the foil or it starts to peel off from exposure to the elements. If you are using this on your car to…

It wasn't that good compared to the products

Before this product I bought a 3M film from Vvivid in 2016 and stuck it on the inner door panel of the car which is made of vinyl. to protect it from my pup - works great! I later bought these non-3M products from Vvivid in 2017, the 6 inch width worked well, however they didn't stick, stretch or curl like the 3M brand. I also bought 12" Vvivid products which do not stick to the vinyl at all but do stick to painted metal. I realize I'm using it in a custom application but I'm comparing it to a…

Too thin, difficult to work with, disappointed.

Like a few others here, I was disappointed to learn that this material is about twice as thin as the average 3M clear vinyl "bra". I ended up having to throw this one away because it was too thin to use as a "bra" and very difficult to work with. The 3M product, on the other hand, processed very well and was noticeably thicker and stronger. It's more like a window tint on your paintwork - I can't imagine it protecting against anything that actually hits your car - rather it's meant to prevent…

Give It Time - Car Care

Attaches to headlights after sanding and cleaning. The first headlight I used was Tac's leveling spray and it looked bad after scratching the surface of the felt wiper hard. I threw it in the car anyway. On the second light I didn't use the tac spray and it was a lot harder and some of the adhesive came off the film when repositioned, but not much. I threw them in the car anyway. After 5 days in a cool garage, both headlights look fantastic. Scratched and fine lines disappeared from both. Only…
