Warne TW1 T-15 Torque Wrench: Reliable 25In/Lb Precision Tool Review

This torque wrench allows you to safely and effortlessly tighten your Warne scope mounts to the correct torque. My brother and I have several Warne scope mounts for different rifles so this was a great purchase.

This is not a T-15 bit. Maybe they tried to make it one. But that's not the case. To the little one. Rounded out the Torx 15 socket head screws on my LaRue mount. So I compared it to a caliper with several bits including 2 screwdrivers and Wiha bits (which I used to install it initially with no problems) and its diameter over the teeth is 0.005" smaller. So if you don't have SAE standard, Chinese "t-14 bolts". Should work great.

The brake wrench also works in reverse (shouldn't) so you'll need to use an allen wrench to loosen previously tightened bolts. The tip also wears out quickly as it was only used to mount three scopes. Not well done. You should probably just buy a smaller regular torque wrench from the TOOLS section. UPDATE: The tip broke. Too soft. The Wheeler Fat Wrench is a must have - high quality bits that are easy to use. Also, never use a torque wrench to loosen bolts - use an Allen key.

This was the first time I have used a torque wrench on scope rings and I have been assembling scopes for about 12 years. Might be good for just a torque setting but it's a VERY positive feeling and it was very reassuring to have the torque specs right. Especially after breaking a few rings beforehand. This can be due to too much pressure or faulty rings. But this product worked great. I'll probably just stick with Warne rings going forward so I don't have to worry about other specs.

I bought this because I wanted to get accurate torque on the visor mounting screws. With the warning brackets tightened, adjust the rear sight according to the instructions provided with the wrench. I got to the training ground and for the first part of the view the groups were pretty tight. Moving to the second part I couldn't hold the 3 shot group. I bought this wrench in June of this year. I've used it to mount about 10 scopes. The torx bit will twist and shear making the wrench useless as the bit is not interchangeable. It is not possible to over-tighten the screw which would result in damage as the wrench is designed to prevent this. Although this key was in good condition, it worked as advertised. I purchased this tool to properly tighten the mounts on Warne scopes that I have purchased. I'm primarily a fan of torque wrenches/tools, but this seemed like a really good idea, even for clamping the scope tubes into the mounts.
