Firstly, when it comes to cryptocurrency cards, I have absolutely no idea about them. It was even until recently that I know that such cards exist and that you can use these crypto cards to make withdrawals from ATMs just like your normal bank debit cards. So to know more about the use of crypto cards, I embarked on a knowledge expedition, researching about one crypto card after the other until I got to the Wirex EUR.
Wirex EUR is a Visa cryptocurrency debit card. It is available in both the virtual form and physical form. The virtual form of the card is only available on the Wirex app, where you can use it for in-app crypto to fiat currencies exchange and vice versa. As for the physical card, it can be ordered free of charge with no inclusion of delivery fees via the Wirex app or the Wirex official website.
One thing I've noticed about cryptocurrency cards is that they have different daily limit for transactions, the ATM fees attached to them, monthly fee and overall fee. Although this might be as a result of the card being owned by different companies and projects with different goals and objectives. For the Wirex EUR card, the daily limit is $8,000, the monthly fee is $1:20, the ATM fee is $2:00 while the overall fee is 0.92%. Although the EUR in the card name, I don't know if it means the card only supports the EUR fiat currency or not but there's no mention of such on their official website save the fact that the card allows you to spend multiple crypto and fiat currencies.
Should the card get lost or misplaced, the Wirex EUR card can be frozen from the Wirex app to cut off the usage of the card and can as well be unfrozen should the card be found eventually. All these are the security measures put in place to prevent and protect against any act of fraud.
