Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous). evertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

Pros

<h3><strong>Dogecoin has Minor, Practical Benefits</strong></h3> <p>Doge has exceptionally short block times and negligible transaction fees. Fast and cheap transactions are just what money needs, and their benefits to users need no explanation. But there’s also the nicety of Dogecoin’s massive supply. Dogecoin’s supply is such that any realistic level of success will still see the majority of transactions using whole numbers, as opposed to the nightmare of decimal places and zeroes that characterize the average Bitcoin transaction. These are small benefits, but they all further facilitate Doge’s use as currency proper.

Cons

Dogecoin future isn't bright, but I don't think it will die. Very big supply of coin one of main disadvantages of coin. Fact that Dogecoin was one of first popular altcoins helps to surive for this coin. Dogecoin peake was when Doge mene was very popular. Now meme is forgotten, coin also lost their positions. Now I think that Dogecoin now in similar situation like Dogecoin. I think any of these coin will die, but they will never come back to top positions.
