Find the right entry point with ETH (important for most investments), but this is probably one of the safer bets on long term potential coins in the marketplace. The project is the bellweather for smart contracts and DAPPs, but there are a lot of exciting competing projects trying to displace them. That said don't hesitate to buy this coin...
Pros
- Ethereum is the grandaddy of smart contracts platforms and has built itself into the only viable peer to Bitcoin in this infinitely dynamic marketplace. They are very ambitious with their roadmap and Vitalik Buterin has a vision that is second to none. Ether should be a component in anyone's portfolio of coins/tokens. One day it may dethrone Bitcoin as the king of all cryptos and the ultimate store of value.
Cons
- Scaling is a real issue and although they have an incredibly ambitious vision to solve this pressing issue, it may not work and that could become a serious drag for the potential for this project. The transition from POW to POS (Plasma) will cause a fork which may split the community.
