Quick and Easy Setup for Java Applications

The ability to get up an running quickly without having all my eggs in 1 basket (we used both Tomcat as well). I like how easy it was to add new applications or services using other frameworks such as Spring Boot which allows us more flexibility when developing our systems/services than just pure java servlets would allow by itself. Not much really but some minor things - we had issues getting tomcats SSL certificate working with resin so i think there were workarounds required at times but…

Pros
  • Easy integration between various web servers, application platforms etc.Easy deployment across multiple environments for production testing purposes..easy management through Java agents / monitoring capabilities that come alongwith this framework..I could go forth here :) It is amazing!!
Cons
  • Honestly not many downsides unless you specifically want something particular

Fast, reliable & stable Java container for heavy traffic

I used resin in my college days as an application server hosting multiple web applications including java servlet-based ones (like jsp/jstl).It was very fast back then with good stability too! it had some problems like memory leaks etc but they were resolved later by Sun's patches or releases. i think its still available atleast till now?I dont know about other features though. But at least you can try this if your requirements are satisfied only with performance. I needed a powerful appserver…

Pros
  • Fast response time, low resource usage.etcGood support for concurrent serversGreat architecture to handle large number services simultaneouslyNo security concernsEasy installationLow cost maintenanceEaseful scalabilityHighly reliableReliablityFault tolerant
