TAIWAN DENTAL CLINIC BEGAN TO ACCEPT CRYPTOCURRENCY.

Dental Blade iTeeth from Taiwan has connected to the world's first dedicated medical blockchain platform created by the Dentacoin Foundation. Now iTeeth patients will be able to pay for the clinic's services using the Dentacoin (DCN) cryptocurrency.

The Netherlands-based Dentacoin foundation launched the Dentacoin blockchain platform in February 2017. Since its launch, it has already conducted ICOs (initial coin offerings) twice, having issued more than 325 billion tokens. Dentacoin is registered on Coinmarketcap and is freely traded on several international exchange platforms for cryptocurrencies (Cryptopia, Etherdelta, Mercatox and Coinexchange), on December 21, 2017, the token was traded at a price of $ 0.000160 per share. The company's capitalization as of that date was $ 52.5 million.

The goal of the project is to create a global dental platform that will bring together clinics, doctors and patients. It will be organized as follows. Patients are insured under the Dental Asurance program, undertake to comply with the recommendations of dentists and deduct a monthly fee in DCN cryptocurrency. These funds go to the accounts of doctors working in partner clinics of the Dentacoin Foundation. The insurance will cover a certain range of services (it has not yet been determined), in addition to expensive treatment. In order to form the habit of taking care of teeth and oral cavity in people, the founders of the project intend to develop a mobile application Aftercare, where it will be possible to track all the advice of attending physicians, and patients will be able to write reviews that will be available to all users of the platform. The developers also plan to create a DentaVox consumer research database that clinics will need to use to monitor and improve their services.

On the blockchain, the Dentacoin Foundation will form a patient database where all medical records will be stored, and only patients and their doctors will have access to it. The project implies that in the future it will be possible to pay with cryptocurrency not only in partner clinics, but also to buy dental equipment, instruments, medicines from suppliers and manufacturers.Interestingly, in November, the founder of the Dentacoin Foundation, Dimitar Dimitrakiev, presented the concept of a platform in Russia: he spoke at a conference on the digital economy at the Perm National Research Polytechnic University. The event was attended by representatives of Rostelecom, and as a result, the participants decided to hold a similar meeting in Bulgaria, where Dimitrakiev lives and works, in order to study in detail the Dentacoin system and the possibilities of its application in the dental industry.
