Description of 655 High-Viscosity Pre-Blended Epoxy Adhesive

EXCELLENT ADHESION adhesion to hard-to bond woods. This toughened, versatile, thickened epoxy is for permanent waterproof bonding of fiberglass, ceramics, metals, plastics, damp and difficult-to-bond woods. A bit more flexible than standard epoxies and polyester, but much stiffer than adhesive sealants. Makes structural bonds that can absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. IDEAL FOR BONDING dissimilar materials. Mixed at a 1:1 ratio, this 2-part epoxy gives you 46 minutes of pot life at 72°F and an open (working) time of 60-75 minutes. It reaches an initial cure in 3 to 4 hrs, workable cure in 7-10 hours, and full cure in 24 hours. OFFERS GREATER FLEXIBILITY than traditional epoxies or polyester resins. Yet it is much stiffer than adhesive sealants. With a modulus of elasticity of 150,000 PSI, this epoxy bonds tenaciously to a metals, plastics, glass, masonry, and fiberglass. BONDS MANY MATERIALS including dissimilar ones. G/flex has a superior grip so that it can be used to bond to metals, plastics, glass, masonry, and fiberglass. G/flex is ideal for repairs to aluminum boats and polyethylene and ABS canoes and kayaks. It can also be used to wet out and bond fiberglass tapes and fabrics. MAKES STRUCTURAL BONDS that can absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. G/flex can be used on damp or wet surfaces, and even underwater when applied with specific techniques. Perfect for repairs to plastic boats, canoes or kayaks made of polyethylene or ABS.

Great stuff, but use with caution.

Used to attach the fresh water tank to one of my trailers. Finding a replacement was not easy due to the age of the trailer and the location of the tank. This stuff works great. A few usage tips: Use gloves and popsicle sticks if you have them. Before application, lightly sand and dust off. Give it "enough” time to dry. Slightly grind, check your solution. If you still have a leak, reapply after sanding what you put in and dusting off. Instructions are in the box, follow them. There is a video…

Great item, definitely worth the money. Repaired my damaged canoe.

I bought this to repair the hull of a used canoe I bought. It was reluctantly repaired with regular epoxy and fiberglass, so I wanted to get it right. After learning about HDPE (high density polyethylene) and how it doesn't interact well with regular epoxy resins, I found many mentions of this material on canoe forums. I followed the instructions, watched some videos and gave it a try. For the larger crack I used fiberglass sheets cut to size and soaked in epoxy, but I also filled some gouges…

In 2005 I bought a 5 person molded polyethylene hot tub. Being a jack of all trades, of course I kept it after all these years. Numerous renewals of engine, heater etc. But last year when moving I struggled with a large crack in the bottom edge of the seat. I've tried almost ALL suggested repair methods and sealants, including plastic welding. Some of the "repairs" took a week or two and then failed. I even went as far as contacting the company that bought V*ta Spa and spoke to one of their…
