You better look forward to eating 8 servings sooner.

It has many servings, yes, but the problem is that all 8 servings come from ONE grocery bag. So once you open this pasta you better eat 8 servings before they go bad.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Not a vending machine

Raw pasta with some freeze-dried ingredients

These are not freeze-dried meals. This is a raw paste with the addition of powdered and freeze-dried ingredients. Should there be 4 servings in each pack? I just tried eating 2 of these things. Garbage. You can do better with these $70 at the Dollar Store. I would return it if I could. Yes, probably 20 years. In an emergency, how are you going to cook each packet for 20 minutes? Then divide each packet into 4 portions? lolz. It's not worth it.

Pros
  • High marks for hold and shelf life from testers
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other options

Check the inside of the bucket for leaks!

Sealed, the tamper-evident ring on the lid is undamaged. At the top of the bucket, the corner of the bag of powdered cheese was scored, allowing the poisonous contents to squirt out and cover everything in the bucket. None of the other packages were damaged, only the cheese powder. If I have to worry about such situations, I don't trust this manufacturer of nonperishable foods. Washing and inspecting freeze dried bags is not my idea of a good weekend. See photos for details. Augason Farms, you…

Preparing for something I hope will never happen

Just started preparing an emergency kit due to the recent earthquakes in California. This is definitely something I think everyone should have ready, just in case. I haven't actually tried the food in this package and I hope I never have to. It came in a very sturdy bucket, which I don't think is the best way to carry it around. I wish it came in the form of a waterproof backpack so someone could easily walk around with it because it's cumbersome to lug around. But if you ever need it, you can…

DO NOT BUY! the best in the pantry staples

so most of us buy this type of food as a last resort. The recent pandemic and related food shortages have given me the opportunity to sample many of my freeze dried products. This bucket contained a packet of food that was very hard. I've eaten TONS of freeze dried meals - they're NEVER hard, they're always light, crunchy and easy to rehydrate. Never, never will they be solid, hardened bricks. It cannot be that this food was sealed properly. And there's no way I'm going to eat it, because if…

So far, so good. I ate chicken noodle soup

So far so good. I ate chicken noodle soup. It tastes a bit like Lipton soup. The chocolate pudding is very good. It has a bit of an odd taste, but I think it might be my water. Stadtwasser leaves a piece of itself in everything. Bought to test. I want to know what I get if I save back a little. I think I already like this brand. I can't wait for the clam chowder. Ouch! I mean cornbread. : ).I don't recommend it to other products because I've only tried one and I don't see much of a difference…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Protection

I checked the contents and all mylar food bags were present and properly sealed. A bucket contains 21,020 calories for lunch and dinner, or about 15 days of food (not counting fifteen 667-calorie breakfasts) if you're aiming for 2,000 calories a day. Each pack contains multiple servings, so you'll need multiple ziplock bags to hold open bags. All food needs to be mixed with boiled water, and some need to be boiled, so you'll need a supply of clean water and a camp stove or other way to boil…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Glad I opened it before the emergency

Seems to be a solid container so far, probably sealed as there is a rubber seal. The lid first has to be removed all the way around, which requires a bit of force. And it took a lot of effort to remove the cover for the first time. I'm glad I attempted it from the comfort of my home rather than on the road following an emergency! There were 16 grocery bags in my bin. Most packages had an expiration date of 2045 (25 years). Pasta with pasta on the elbow lasts 30 years, a single pack of cheese 10
