Disgusting, would not recommend to anyone!

constant non-stop squeak! when you turn off the microphone with the button on the audio card, the squeak disappears. something with a soldered microphone jack in the card. the paint on the buttons is very pale. it doesn’t look like the map shown on youtube at all… this is the maximum angle! wasted money down the drain! miser pays twice. i bought out of curiosity, for which i paid .

Descent USB Sound under $10

For the price, this is the best bang for your buck. I remember when USB sound cards were way more expensive. This isn't for those who need a sound card for a recording studio, but is ideal for those who have a broken sound port on their PC/laptop. The drivers are built into Windows, so you don't need to install them. It is also backwards compatible with different types of USB. I haven't tested Linux yet. It's roughly the size of a very large flash drive. There is a headphone jack and a…

Terrible! External components

Just received in the mail. Pros: Inexpensive and fast. Cons: I bought this to replace the built in Realtek/SoundMax hoping I could get some more volume. of it for my headphones. Well, I didn't get more volume. This is the same level as my onboard card, but with worse sound quality. Lots of highs and almost no bass. Enabling Base Boost or some other buff makes things worse. The volume and mute buttons on it are not hardware control buttons. You just control windows volume/mute as if you were…

Pretty disappointed

Bought this item for my laptop at work. I usually plug in my headphones and listen to Pandora all day. I was hoping this article would amplify the sound. When it arrived there were no instructions. It wasn't a plug-n-play item, although it installed itself. I searched on YouTube and figured out how it works. The sound produced has completely changed from CD quality with headphones connected directly to the laptop to AM with a sound card. I do not understand. How does this device designed for…

Good comp sound card replacement for $.

Works as advertised and is great value for money! It took me a while to figure out how to install it as there were no instructions! It didn't install automatically, I had to go through the files on the hard drive and find the ones that needed to be installed, which was a bit of a trial and error. But once I typed it correctly, it works fine on my computer. The headphone hole on my laptop is empty and you have to move it constantly to get sound. I knew it would eventually break and I kept going.

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Some bugs

Cheap but good quality

I bought one for myself and recently bought one for my daughter to use on our laptops - both run Windows Vista. You may need to go into the sound settings and make the USB sound card your STANDARD and keep that option. After that, if you don't plug in the USB sound card, it will revert to the original sound card setting, so you won't be left without sound. JUST DON'T TREAT IT - and treat it right and it will treat you right :-) The main reason I bought it for myself was that my HP laptop's…

This is a good device for 0.99 cents

I read the reviews and finally decided on this product. I also had a problem with the audio jack on my sound card, unfortunately it's a 5 year old Toshiba satellite and it's hard to find a replacement sound card for it. I still don't like the idea of USB sound cards when you think about it. Delay is my first thought. Out of the box this is a basic and unreliable device as the sole purpose of this device is to replace my old sound card. I decided to use a USB extender to charge my surroundings…

Works for basic audio

This is NOT 7.1 STEREO, just to clarify. The software is not included because Windows automatically loads the driver and adds a few additional options to the Windows Sound Control Panel: bass boost, room correction, virtual surround sound, volume equalization. When I use iTunes as a music player, I find Virtual Surround and Room Correction to be crap. The volume of the lyrics is reduced compared to the instruments and most of the music sounds underwater/distorted. Just disable the extensions…
