Great shaving soap for beginners too.

The first shaving soap I've tried so I have no comparison. It was very difficult to create foam at first, but after soaking it in hot water for 5 minutes it became easier. I didn't have to soak it for later use and it foams quickly. Great long lasting scent, very strong on first use but not as strong after about 1/2 use of the soap. It seems to be going fast compared to what I was expecting, I bet it will take a month max.

Excellent value for money and quality.

Tried this product for the first time today. Very happy with the overall result. I've seen several negative reviews mentioning that this soap doesn't lather as well as other soaps. Well, if you use the right method, as shown in the videos on the internet, it lathers up great. I melted the soap puck (gently) in a classic Old Spice shaving mug with warm water using a saucepan technique. Then, after letting the soap cool for at least 48 hours, I continued shaving. It is important to "soak" the…

Great product: Shaving Soap

I was a bit skeptical at first as it is a glycerine soap and I wasn't sure if it would give a good lather or a good shave. The disc fits nicely in my shaving soap cup which has a strong sandalwood scent which my wife liked after she shaves. Wet my brush and squeezed out most of the water, let it stir with a 100% badger hair brush for 10 seconds and got lather. . It doesn't bunch up into a pile of foam but applies with a good hard finish and also offers a smooth razor glide. It should be noted…

Great soap for men

Having used many different brands of shaving soap (TOOBS, WSP, CC) this is my new choice. I have just stopped using CC Amber Soap. They had numerous cuts and nicks. I just didn't think it would give me the protection that this soap offers. I like that the smell is not overpowering and unobtrusive. I use Pinaud Clubman after shaving so I don't need anything too strong smelling. After more than 5 years of wet shaving, I can say with certainty that if you don't try this soap, you're doing yourself

soap yes suitable for shaving and hair removal

You get what you pay for. The soap has a pleasant smell and foams. The problem is that the foam takes a very, very long time to create and after a few weeks of shaving (7) the product has lost almost half its size. So if you're looking for a soap puck for travel, this one will do as it's cheap and definitely smaller when you get home. BUT, if you're looking for a quality shave, spend a little more on Old Bond Street's Edwin Jagger or Taylor, who last exponentially longer than Gentleman Jon!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Big and bulky

The worst. Shave. Product. Is always.

Good for the time being. Lathers well, smells nice, cheap and made in America. However, to be honest I am shocked that I read good reviews about this product. It's terrible. If you need to save that much, buy a can of Barbasol. This is an infinitely better product. A can of any brand of shaving cream is probably best. My face has never been so irritated. I haven't had that many cuts since I started shaving in the '80s. Too bad Revain doesn't allow me to give negative stars to this material. I…

Good soap, just don't like the smell

I can't rate this soap badly just because of the smell. I ordered it so it was my own work but I just don't like the smell. That's not for me. However, I will give it a high rating based on the fact that it does everything you want in a good soap. It lathers well, stays in place, rinses off clean and leaves my face looking gorgeous and hydrated. If you're looking at this soap, make sure you're a fan of sandalwood, and if so, buy it. This is a really high quality shaving soap. If you're not a…

Folks, I've tried MORE than my share of shaving soap.

This material is great. What you expect from a shaving soap: Good lather and a protective glide over your face. bowl.* Yes, it slides the first time. After that, the cake sticks to the bowl or the surviving cake like crazy glue. If there is a better shaving soap out there I can't imagine why.

Pros
  • Not cheap, but decent

  • Quality
