This is a very good product. I'd buy it again

This is a very good product. I'd buy it again. In my opinion, the eight bolts that attach the roller hardware to the door should be about a half inch longer in order to attach the hardware to the door. By the time I sandwiched a 2x4 frame to a barnwood panel from Lowes, the thickness of the door was about equal to the bolt length, so I had to drill a countersink hole in the wood to attach the acorn nuts. All in all though, I really like this product. The price is right and the quality is good.

Pros
  • Provides a unique and eye-catching feature to any interior design
Cons
  • It may be difficult to customize the kit to fit specific door types

Rail kit has all the parts I need to make .

Rail kit has all the parts I need to make my projects work. I would buy it again from here. But I am very confused on something and cannot seem to get an answer: I did receive the small rail connector but how exactly does it connect anything? I seem to only have one side with four small screws. The little box this came in in my big package shows that there is just a small 4-holed bar with 4 short screws and the small allen wrench to work them, but there is no back and I have no idea how to…

Pros
  • Smooth and quiet operation – no annoying squeaking or grinding noises
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for use with doors of irregular shapes

Directions are bad but, looks great!

We had not put this kind of hardware together before so the instructions were horrible. We put up each end first to hold it up and then the center point was not EXACTLY level so the doors do not come together completely all the way from top to bottom (when slid all the way to the left or right they do because of the "leveling" of the bar at those ends. :( But, great deal! Love the look! We will buy again if we need more.

Pros
  • Would buy again. Great product
Cons
  • The kit may not be easily adjustable for doors of different heights

Easy to install, very well made, heavy duty materials.

I bought the 10 foot version for double doors opening in the middle. Very straight forward installation, I didnt read the instructions (did look at the pictures) and it came out perfectly. Heavy duty steel hardware except the wheels which are POM Polyoxymethylene (POM), also known as acetal,[2] polyacetal, and polyformaldehyde, an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. translation: a high quality smoothly…

Pros
  • Saves space – barn doors slide instead of swing open
Cons
  • It may be difficult to disassemble or remove once installed

Great product, great price

I bought this for my custom closet/safe hider. I had to trim the rail down to 9ft. but that was simple enough (just cut off excess from either rail). Just make sure you follow the directions and it will all work out great. My only recommendation to the seller would be to include a template for the door brackets. Luckily, I measured like 5 times before drilling into my doors, but it could have easily gone south. All in all, very will made.

Pros
  • Provides a rugged and industrial feel to any space
Cons
  • The kit may not be suitable for use with doors that have intricate designs or carvings

good luck drilling those holes right

Contacted the seller griping about the manual because I really don't feel like packing it all up and hauling it to the UPS store. They responded within hours with what I need - an installation manual! I am impressed. The product itself is actually quite nicely made. Packed well no chipping on the powder coat and the wheels glides very smoothly on the track. I may add a picture later if the installation goes smoothly.

Pros
  • Arrived within the week. Looks like the pictures. Decently priced
Cons
  • The kit may not be suitable for doors that are wider than 36 inches

Installation level expert

Ease of instal only gets a 3 because you should be a professional if installing these. There needs to be a header board in wall behind this bar. The weight of the bar alone will pull out of the wall if not properly anchored. The quality of the equipment is 5 star

Pros
  • THE BEST CHOICE FOR YOUR HOUSE: This modern twist on the classic barn door not only saves space, it allows the ability to open up multiple rooms without the annoyance of a swinging door.
Cons
  • It may be difficult to lock or unlock the door from the inside

Quality but difficult

I used 2 hardware packs and 3 of the Smartstandard doors. Quality is good. Installation was very difficult. I think my walls are uneven which caused the problem. I used a header board, drilled straight and put up the rails. Both had the same problem - uneven spacing from the wall at the bottom of the doors. I enlarged the holes on the doors and rehung them a bit loose and tried to adjust them hanging. It helped slightly. I then used washers as spacers on the rail spacers and was able to correct

Pros
  • ‎12 Feet
Cons
  • It may wear out or lose functionality over time

Amazing product: my feedback

I love this product. It's rare you get something these days that's well constructed, but this thing is amazing. The doors pictured are done with tile, backer board, plywood, mastic, grout and 5/4 board pressure treated wood. And 14 gauge metal on the backside. During each phase of the build, they got heavier, and heavier and heavier. Honestly, I'll bet they're 175 pounds. Each! I was worried that this system might not support the weight. Not only did it support the doors, but I've also grabbed…

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • The kit may not be suitable for use in areas with high traffic

poor quality materials

One of the rails was slightly warped, the two rails did not align exactly when joined in the middle, and one of the lag screws snapped at the thread to shank junction just as I got the last screw in place. It would have been virtually impossible to remove and replace at that point. I would have had to drill it out somehow after taking the rail completely off again. And, yes, I predrilled the holes with the appropriate sized bit first and, yes, I was using a hand wrench to tighten the screws…

Pros
  • Compatible with a range of door types and styles
Cons
  • The kit may be prone to rust or corrosion over time

Good product/lousy instructions

Good product. Lousy instructions. So many pieces of necessary information we're completely left out of the instructions. Also o e of the brackets were drilled a little off and we had to get creative in setting it. Also one of the lags used to attach the bar snapped and we had to go buy a replacement. Couldn't use the stops in the middle because otherwise the doors wouldn't close. Recommend you measure everything before you start installing. Also read the instructions carefully and try to fill…

Pros
  • Makes the barn door shutters in my office look great. Easy to install and great quality.
Cons
  • The rollers may not glide smoothly on some types of track

Great value good for me

Nice kit, my only dislike is that with the 10ft kit I noticed the railing is slightly bent on each 5ft piece. It doesn't prevent the door from sliding properly, but aesthetically speaking, from certain angles you can see a slight bend. Maybe this wouldn't be much of an issue with the shorter kit (8ft). Also, I think the door stoppers are a bit too large and bulky. They create too large of a gap between the two doors when closed, so I ended up only using the outer door stoppers and I had to…

Cons
  • The kit may not be suitable for use with heavy doors

Looks amazing for my opinion

We had our entire basement updated and added a play room for our sons and this heavy duty barn door hardware worked perfectly. The color was perfect, our contractors installed with no problems quickly the only thing we did have to add was the bottom brackets to attach to the wall to hold the fire from flapping around

Pros
  • PACKAGE INCLUDED: A Barn Door Hardware Kit (2x 6FT Rails, 9x Rail Spacers, 4x Rollers, 4x Door Stops, 4x End Caps, 2x Floor Guides, 1x Hex Key; All other necessary hardware is included as you see in the pictures. For 16 inch stud.) DOOR NOT INCLUDED.
Cons
  • The kit may not support doors that are too thick or too thin

Great Value in my review

Nicely made with very few wood issues (tight knots, had 1 or 2 pop out but very tiny and easily filled with wood putty. My only issue was installing the hardware especially the handles - there were no instructions or templates to aid in drilling holes. Thought they would have pre-drilled holes like the other kits but guess not. Email to seller got me the "suggested” placement of the hardware but these should really have pre-drilled holes or at least a template included in packaging. Kit is…

Pros
  • Love the quality
Cons
  • It may be difficult to clean in hard-to-reach areas

Excellent product and price!

This was used for barndoors between my dining room and sun room. It came with 2 rails, which join in the center, and the doors close/stop before ever hitting this joint, so no stability issue! This fits 2 barn doors that are 34 inches wide each and enough width to completely open up the doorway, which is 68 inches wide. This hardware was a lot cheaper for 2 doors than the one I bought at Lowes for 1 door and it's made out of the same material and looks exactly the same! Very pleased with the…

Pros
  • The hardware was easy to install, I even ordered another one a week later I loved how it came out.
Cons
  • It may not be compatible with doors made of certain materials

great product on my review.

these are the best hardware for barn doors I have ever worked with everything was complete and the instructions were PERFECT and in English and not metric. My wife and I have put up 4 sliding doors in our remodel of our house unfortunately the first 2 doors we installed were from a different company and while the hardware was fine the instructions SUCKED. We saw these on Best Buy and read what the company info said so we bought them and the difference between putting them up and the first one…

Pros
  • Provides an elegant and sophisticated appearance
Cons
  • The kit may not hold up well over time in areas with high levels of moisture

Very nice, solid kit

Very nice, solid kit. I had to adapt it a bit to fit our needs (2nd floor hallway in a Cape-style house with a shorter than usual wall beneath the slanted ceiling- 2 doors that slide to the middle- one at a time- to each cover a closet doorway). We used the included lag screws rather than the included wall anchors and it went-up nicely and is very solid. Because our walls were not standard, we had to shorten one of the rails with a hacksaw to get the pre-drilled holes to line-up with the studs,

Pros
  • There isn’t anything I dislike about this rail. Very happy with it, doors roll smoothly on it.
Cons
  • The kit may not be designed to last for very long

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good sturdy rail, but coating chipped easy.

Worked perfectly for my sliding doors over kitchen pantry. My husband was able to easily cut it to the exact length that would fit. I’m not sure anything like this is "easy to install” but the predrilled holes & instructions made it as easy as it could be. Getting it level & making sure the doors opened & closed smoothly was a slight challenge but we got it. Only complaint is the coating scratched off pretty easy on one part. We just put that part facing the wall. I recommend you be sure to be…

Pros
  • Adds an element of texture and dimension to walls
Cons
  • It may not be suitable for use with doors that have irregular shapes or designs

Waiting on seller to respond to my email

Love the product but ordered the wrong size and realized it outside of my return window. Ordered proper (bigger) size and would love someone to respond to me about returning the original one.

Pros
  • Provides a secure and safe sliding barn door system
Cons
  • The kit may not be suitable for use with doors that are too heavy, which can cause them to sag or hang unevenly

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Project turned out great!

I needed two 36” doors to slide together to partition a large bedroom. The rail is strong and slides perfectly. Make sure your measurements are perfect as you want very little clearance between the bottom of the doors and the floor. There is no way to adjust once it’s on the wall.

Pros
  • Hardware
Cons
  • The kit may require frequent maintenance to keep it in good condition
