Straight and True

Straight and True. The nut turns the screw under gravity. Threaded mounting holes make installation easier. Edited the Marlin Configuration.h file to set the Z axis "DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT" to 400 and it works fine with my stepper controller (yours may be different). Four stars instead of five because the nut is a bit sloppy, but no big problem so far. A compression spring will most likely fix this.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Available in White Only

One end of the lead screw is damaged and cannot be used. Looks like they cut the 600mm shaft with a bandsaw or grinder and didn't clean the cut. Small metal ridges protrude to prevent slippage in a standard 8mm x 5mm connector. I may be able to grind the end to fit the 8mm coupler. The filaments on that end are useless and I'm not going to spend an hour cleaning them up with a tiny file. This might work for a cheap printer, but it will make my hardware more difficult to assemble.

Pros
  • Cargo
Cons
  • Some odds and ends

The lead screws I received were straight, 4-start and contrary to one of the answers to the questions (but matching the advertised product) had a pitch of 8mm (the nut moves 8mm for one full turn of the bolt). The lead screw finish is somewhat lacking; it is not polished and there were slightly rough edges during manufacture which caused a little resistance to the nut which i…
