Description of KidCo P4012 PeaPod Infant Midnight

Surrounded by lightweight mesh that promotes air flow and acts as an insect screen, this 3.5lb travel bed folds into a compact size. The UV protection and anchor straps for ground attachment allow for outdoor use. The peapod plus comes fully assembled with a sleeping pad snapped to the underside of the floor. No further assembly is needed as it can be folded and stored with the sleeping pad fully attached. A large front zipper panel makes access to children easy. Comes with a carry/storage bag. Fabric: 100% polyester.

DANGEROUS DESIGN DEFECT - Do not buy!

I have an older design PeaPod (no mesh base) that I am very happy with and decided to buy a new one when we got our second have had a child. After about two months of sporadic use, the metal spring clip broke free from the connection and completely pierced the protective plastic tube and tent fabric, leaving a sharp metal rod protruding about 4 inches from the bottom of the tent. Thought it was a one off manufacturing defect so I sent it back from Revain for a replacement. Haven't used a…

The bars seem to jump out of their mounts too easily. We encountered this FIRST TIME.

As many have pointed out, the stands slide out of their mounts too easily. We experienced it the FIRST TIME trying to fold it. When a post comes up, it really can't be fixed. The mount is likely to warp, the rubber bushing is likely to be torn/punctured, and the rod itself is like a dagger that must be thrust back into the tattered sheath under tremendous pressure. I don't know if it was the quality or the operator. Error, I got a replacement from Amazon. So far so good with the chopsticks…

Untenable. Not sure.

The result is a very nice shelter in which a child can play under supervision. Otherwise, in my opinion, this product is not durable and unsafe to leave a child unattended. I tried it for the first time last weekend while preparing for a trip my wife and I will be taking with our kids later this month.
