Ideal for scuba gear

I use it as either a training pad or my main dive light. Anything that includes a dive's name is automatically given a 40% markup, but this works just as well. It has enough traction over the water to keep my tablets snug to the BC but not enough for my main light (Princeton Tec LED Miniwave, 4C batteries) but underwater it has enough traction to hold the light tight when I use his let go . So far no signs of rust on the ring which I can't tell on my other dive retractor. The clamp is secureโ€ฆ

Works but not as well as some say and expensive for what it does

I use it for deer hunting not fishing so keep that in mind. It's a gear holder/retractor and I think it works. It's not a "quiet whisper" or even a particularly quiet one. I have a cheap $3 key winder and this one is about as loud in dB but with a lower tone (because it's bigger). I wouldn't want to pull it out or pull it in when a deer is around. Mine also has a frequent but sporadic "pop" when retracting, which is related (uncontrolled) to how the cable wraps around the spindle. Occurs atโ€ฆ

One of the best cables

Sometimes you find devices that just make life easier. Nikon Retractable Rangefinder Tether is one such product. Nikon makes a good product and this is no exception. It's just a retractable cord with a strong spring. You can attach your range finder or other electronic device to one end and then clip it to your belt. Your range finder is now always at hand, never lost or tangled in your hands. The case is made of plastic so I'm not sure how it will hold up in everyday use. If you're like meโ€ฆ
