Very good oven filter

Really good oven filters. I modified the 1" thick vessel to accommodate these 4" filters and am very pleased with the results. We often have wildfire smoke coming through the windows before we can close them. To my relief, this filter greatly improves air quality when it does. I know MERV14 is really better for filtering smoke, but this filter really helps. Also, this 4" thick filter has a much larger surface area than the 1" MERV12 filter, and thus the oven fan works much less with it. There…

Filters are rated higher than they actually filter.

Works but I was surprised there were still fine dust particles in the room. I use it as a room air filter when I started smoking and saw smoke coming straight through the filter. Previously, it had a 3M filter rated Merv 10, which was not only able to filter all smoke, which also explains that other ratings for this filter are lower (e.g. FPR 7). This corresponds to Merv 8/9. , not 10. Also, the charcoal filter is much less effective than other filters I've used over the past 5 years and barely

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • Not bad but...

If you have a luggage rack with newfangled 4 inch filters, Nordic Pure is the only filter that will fit. Honeywell 20x20x4 will NOT fit Carrier air purifiers! Perfect replacement for TopTech TechPure TT-FM-2020 QB OEM filter - QwikBox® for much more money - and you need to assemble it yourself. OH! Every time I assembled TopTech I managed to pierce my finger with their razor sharp wires. See my review on the video page for this product at http://amzn.to/2ueT9Yj. It fits almost perfectly - it…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

The advertised filter size for my AC is 20 x 20 x 4. Like typically, a "x4" filter is 4 3/8" thick. But for my conditioner, 4 3/8" is too thick and doesn't fit. This 3 5/8" thick Nordic Pure filter fits perfectly. The materials and construction are good and they are offered at a competitive price. The product page clearly lists the actual dimensions of this filter, it's just a shame the industry can't be consistent as at least it allows regular homeowners (as opposed to HVAC technicians) to end

Pros
  • Very fast shipping
Cons
  • Crumpled

Good price on Merv 12 but expensive on Merv 15

Most bad reviews are due to the filter not fitting. But to be honest, that's the actual size of the filter, so it's not really fair. I know - 20 times 20 times 4 should be consistent. But it's not, so move on - this filter seems to be as good or even better than the more expensive TechPure that originally came with my new unit. That's about 1/3 the cost. I doubt they are even 1/3 as good! But we will see. The good thing is that they fit perfectly and I can order them here. I used to pay about…

Doesn't clean the air

Summary: Got a MERV 12 20x20x4 filter. It appears to be able to do its job but doesn't appear to be removing fine dust particles from the air. In other words, it does not filter/clean the air at PM.5 and only slightly at PM2.5. Almost every filter that is better than a dust filter will outperform this Nordic Pure filter. Details: I have 8 air purifiers at home, including two BlueAir605s and a Honewell HEPA, and I measure them regularly with a Dylos DC1700 particle counter. The two air purifiers

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
