GREAT GAME suitable for outdoor play

This is such a fun game once you get the hang of it. My 7 year old loves it, especially the hunting part of the game. Great family game. just buy it already! We took this into the cabin to go. So much fun!

Family Fun: Outdoor Games

I bought it for my family. My kids were homeschooled, they use it to play this on the computer. Now they have grown. We were very happy to find it. Only 4 can play at the same time. It's still a good family game to play together. I still have 2 houses. Good for a gift.

Pros
  • Alright!

Better than others!

We love the Oregon Trail so this game was fun. It probably won't be the first game we reach for, but it's still fun to play. This is way better than other physical versions of the game. There are many details to consider and some you really need to plan for! I recommend watching YouTube videos on how to play. We found that recommendations were not enough.

Too short a game deprives them of real strategy.

Fast replay - faster than expected. I think there was a real opportunity to make the game really fun, detailed and as complex as a computer game. Playing with two people takes about 30 minutes after you have mastered the game. The board could be MUCH bigger. Kind of a disappointment. Clumsy instructions that are poorly written leave some important rules in question. I had to google and read several threads where people in the gray areas were discussing various house rules. Not really important,

  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Our favorite game: Games and accessories

The game is awesome! The first game has a lot of rules to follow, but after that it's easy. We liked it so much that we played it 2-5 times a week for the first month. Gameplay typically lasts around 1.5 hours (not 45 minutes as it says on the box) and is packed with strategy and potential sabotage. It's probably a bit difficult for the kids, but we had a lot of fun playing with our other adult friends (30 yrs). Our other friends were also immediately obsessed when they first played and boughtโ€ฆ

Pros
  • So far satisfied

Winning is based on money at the end of the game, not health

We grew up in the early 90's wanting to beat the game I hoped would be similar. And while there are some similarities associated with the dysentery diet, the main focus of the game is trading to make money, with winnings dependent on how much money you end up with. We went through whole games where nobody loses health points and all family members stay alive and in excellent shape. It's not a bad game, but it's not that different from a PC game, which we think is fun, where you can eat portions

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
