*NOT STAINLESS STEEL*

They have arrived and are clearly NOT STAINLESS STEEL. Zinc plating - maybe - and 2 of them bolt springs didn't move - despite a lot of "motivation". Bought for the Ocean Swoob. I was at the end of a dog leash.

Pros
  • Clasps
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Counterfeit stainless steel

Nonsense at best. They're not actually stainless, they're chrome plated. A few strokes with a file and you'll see copper and softer steel underneath. They will rust like crazy if the chrome finish is compromised.

Pros
  • Outstanding performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Good price, durability not sure

I have these for attaching items to my BC when scuba diving. They work well, but after a month of use in salt water some of them are getting harder and harder to open (and I rinse my scuba gear with fresh water after every dive). For the price I'll probably just buy more if they're too hard to open.

Pros
  • Widespread use
Cons
  • New competitors

Keep looking Snaps

I advise you not to use it. They're hard to open, they don't slide easily at all, and the thumb latch that you slide to open is too small. I tried them while riding in warm water and it was so hard I actually cut my finger trying to open the thing. In cold water and/or gloves this would be impossible. They seem strong enough, I don't think they can open. I'll try to delegate them to dry one-off jobs.

Pros
  • HEAVY-DUTY
Cons
  • I'll write later
