Very good radio if you are looking for a 10-12m cell phone

I have to say I didn't like this radio when testing it as a base station. I think my Antron 99 made too much noise. My opinion changed after installing this radio in my car. So here are my likes and dislikes: I like: 1. Very quiet receiver when used in a car. Low-noise floor. I have to constantly check if the radio is on.2. Good transmission sound. I left my stash. No adjustments.3. The sensitivity is excellent. I can detect sound at -127dbm.3. RIT and XIT are included in V3. The non-V3 didn't…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

(China) Got one of these after a good radio shop 980

was looking for a replacement for the HR2510. New radios seem to be rubbish. (China) Got one of these after a good deal with a Radio 980. Although it has surface mount parts, the board feels quite heavy when running in a big truck. The standard mic sounds pretty good, but has a fancy 5-pin connector that newer Pres/Uniden radios have. Reception is excellent, very close to the old HR2510s of the past. NB/ANL works as it should. HighCut is very good when working in SSB mode. Yes, the echo…

Not as good as President Ronald

Poor modulation and very poor reception with strong local signals. I have a very small President Ronald radio that is much better than this Lincoln. The disadvantage of Ronald is that he has no sideband. But I tested this Lincoln side-by-side with my Ronald and this Lincoln goes in the bin. I promise you this is a far cry from the radio that is President Ronald. If you have a very close strong station, this President Lincoln will turn it off and cut reception where you cannot hear its signal…

  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Great radio at a great price!

I bought this radio as an incentive to get back on the air after a 20 year hiatus. I had packed HR2600 all along but it stopped working so I decided to replace it with this one. I don't like all this programming but I'm glad it at least has normal volume, noise canceling output, mic gain and RF gain. I am sure many people will buy this radio for the ease of converting to CB but I would not recommend it as it is illegal to work on CB and also voids the warranty. The RF output is as advertised…

Pros
  • High marks from testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Highly Recommended Transceiver, President Lincoln II V.3+

This radio offers an amazing level of control. The reception is extremely sensitive and the high-pass filter works very well. The antenna noise limiter and noise suppressor are really good for mobile use. However, I've only used it once. Now this is a home unit powered by a computer power supply. 30 W peak AM, 56 W SSB and just under 40 W FM are power measurements on a dummy load. Due to my modest license I am not allowed to use AM, FM, LSB on 10 meters. The RF gain control helps a lot on days…

amazing radio in fixed radios CB

I wanted a Lincoln 2 after first seeing it it was either a Lincoln or a Grant 2. I still have my HR2510 which is for the scarcity of spares and finally i hardly ever run it anymore, i run it from time to time and to keep the caps from drying out i have always used high end radios and the so called "10m" export which tends to , drifting horribly on ssb, has the same cold solder joints or the same constant board cracks as every other model offered with ept3XXX series boards. Added settings, added

Pros
  • hands free
Cons
  • very expensive

FOR $$$ THAT'S EASY

The President's little machine works well enough. It has almost every feature you need and a few (e.g. Echo) that you might not want to use. Aside from the small size, a big plus (for me) is the bright display. Easily readable even in the brightest sunlight (which is not the case with other transceivers such as the 980SSB). I think this is because it is a light background with dark numbers compared to 980ssb which is the opposite (light on dark). I had an earlier version of this radio (Lincoln…

Great radio

I wanted a Lincoln 2, when I first saw it it was either a Lincoln or a Grant 2.
