Works fine with Linux

I installed Linux Mint 11 (named Katya, based on Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal) from the ISO CD. The target was an old Windows XP machine. I put the Mint CD in and shut down Windows (which shut down the machine). Then I inserted the purchased WLAN adapter. When I turned on the device, it booted from the Mint CD and the Mint installer successfully detected the wireless adapter. Linux Wireless USB

I needed a replacement Wi-Fi adapter for my HP laptop because the OEM built in chip had died. I bought this adapter because I read a review that said it worked well with their Linux computer. On Linux, it's really plug and play. I am using Mepis Linux, plugged it in, went to Mepis administration to enter my WEP key, clicked apply and started surfing the web. Windows 7 64-bit performance is sluggish

I bought this wireless USB adapter for Windows 7 64-bit (clean install) to connect to our internet router. I downloaded the latest driver from the SMC website to use on Windows 7 and everything looked fine at first. I've been using this adapter for about 2 months and its performance has been pretty erratic. After waking up from sleep I would say there is only a 50% chance that the adapter will reconnect.
