Description of Zoo Med Natural Maintenance 24 Ounce

Meets the dietary requirements of growing aquatic turtles that are between 2-6 inches with a small pellet size and 35% protein content. The pellets float as most aquatic turtles prefer to feed at the water's surface. Recommended by zoos, veterinarians, and professional breeders, and contains no artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors. Easy to locate food because the pellets float. Made in the USA.

Good turtle food suitable for reptiles and amphibians

My red eared turtle didn't like their regular floating pellets anymore so I had to switch. I was worried she would do like another brand and not eat it but she took it straight away. So far, so good.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • lots of stuff

Very convenient, competitive price.

Saves me the trip to the pet shop. I can't judge the smell or taste. They would ask my turtles about it. I prefer larger pellets so the fish can't eat them all, but that doesn't matter as the turtles will eventually eat the fish.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Great Price: Food

This is the only food I have ever used on my turtle I have had it for 10 years. She loves it and I am happy that she has stayed very healthy and has grown up well. I was amazed when I saw the price for this size container because it is less than what I pay for a 1/2 container at the pet store.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Has problems

Turtle doesn't like it :(

I don't know maybe it's because he was spoiled before I got him but this guy doesn't like these pellets Luckily the fish live with it It eats it, so the food still gets eaten.Quantity is huge for the amount you are buying it for.I'm still trying to figure out what my turtle likes to eat so I'll just keep trying.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some little things

It is recommended to remove dirt, fish / snails.

The calcium carbonate in this material will cloud the water, especially as the pellets are too large for some turtles to eat in one bite, leaving excess food at the bottom of the tank. Exo Terra branded pellets don't have this problem but are more expensive. Luckily, comet goldfish love it, and adding a single fish to your aquarium can clean up the mess and prevent cloudy water, allowing you to buy cheaper food.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Out of fashion

This lining does not float well.

I usually order other groceries from this company but I chose this one. I won't buy this again. My turtles liked the food but my problem is that she hasn't swum in a long time. Most often, once food enters the aquarium, it sinks to the bottom. Then I would have to dig everything up, which is difficult due to my turtle dwelling. If I missed something it would be this. Contaminate my aquarium and make it dirty which takes more time to get it balanced and clean.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Suitable
