## Risks and caveats

- The contracting entity, MEXC (Comoros) Ltd, is registered in the Union of Comoros; the user agreement names no licence from a financial regulator.
- Regulators in Japan, India, South Korea, the UK, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, Cyprus and Luxembourg have issued warnings or taken action against MEXC for serving local users without authorisation or registration (2022–2026); the Austrian, Cypriot and Luxembourg warnings are as recorded by Spain's CNMV.
- MEXC keeps full custody of user assets, and accounts can be suspended or closed if identity verification is not completed.
- The service is not offered in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore and several other countries.
- If a user does not close positions and withdraw after a written notice, MEXC may treat the account as dormant, close positions and convert assets (for example BTC to USDT); accounts found to misstate their location may be terminated and positions liquidated.
