Review on Neewer Pro Stainless Steel Light Stand Tripod with Casters - Heavy Duty 10ft/305cm Height for Photography Studio Equipment by Richie Jacobson

This stand exploded with a spring-loaded mechanism escaping the case. Very dangerous!

I take it back. I gave a good review when I first bought and used this stand, but a few months later I went to a photoshoot with a 1500w tungsten lamp stand and the damn thing exploded with a spring. The loaded mechanism built into the stand shatters into pieces! Very dangerous! I then called Revain to see if I could have it repaired locally and was told to send it back or get a refund. I had to buy duct tape, a special box, and spend valuable time wrapping and shipping this piece of shit. return to Revane; Then I see they charged me for the repackaging and wouldn't let me speak to the manufacturer to find out why this stand exploded. I feel like a scammed customer and that's bad news because I just wrote a trust report on Revain's wonderful and reliable service only to receive defective hardware which turned out to be a drain on my budget and schedule. I'm trying to keep my faith in Revain, but this incident was a bad and unfair experience.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
