Convert from 35mm equivalent to 28mm equivalent which isn't much of a difference. No impairment of picture quality. This is especially useful if you use Panorama mode a lot. I would recommend buying a "telephoto" converter first, which will convert the 35mm equivalent to a 50mm equivalent. Also order a pair of 49mm lens slot covers when purchasing this lens. They fit both the front and back of this transitional lens. This wide adapter comes with a cheap back pressure cap that is easy to remove and the cap that comes with it doesn't get much better. Also included is a good case for the lens.
