I bought my 2006 Prius new. Now the mileage is 144000 km. I've never tuned the car, but I've noticed my mileage drop off and noticed a slight drop at idle. I decided it was time to order those spark plugs, MAF cleaner, PCV and filters. I couldn't find my dipstick so I bought another one. I cleaned the engine and washed off the cleaner, paying special attention to the spark plugs so dirt didn't get into the cylinders when they were removed. I looked at and checked the valve clearances. A little different, but close. The connectors needed gaps because they were shipped out of their boxes and banged against each other in the shipping box during shipping. I smeared some anti-seize paste on the threads and screwed in the spark plugs. With the PCV valve installed, I changed the filters, cleaned the MAF and throttle body, and rezipped it. One of the old pugs lost part of the insulator around the tip of the plug. No wonder I missed it! Ideal OEM replacement spark plugs. The car drives better. Candles need to be changed more often than every 14 years.
