I have rather sensitive skin on my face, so I can't use fragrances. It only turns red when I apply a scented lotion. The lotion is firm, thick, but absorbs fairly quickly. I would not use it 5 minutes before work as it takes some time to absorb into the skin. I use it at night before bed. If necessary, I apply a SMALL dab to the face before going out. When I wake up after applying the lotion the night before, my face feels moisturized. It's been at least two weeks or more since I started using this lotion. So far it has cured my red dry skin. I may have to wait to test it in a dry winter, but we'll see. I don't see any problems using the product. I have already covered my entire face with this thick lotion and have not felt the pain of many other brands that may contain fragrance. The only products I could use are Cetafil (body cream ONLY) and Aquaphor. Cetaphil Body Cream is light and absorbs quickly. When I wake up in the morning, I notice that Cetaphil doesn't retain moisture for long. Aquaphor is a mineral oil, very oily. So one moisturizes too short-term and the other keeps your face too greasy. This Original Eucerin Healing Lotion is something in between. Highly recommend Eucerin Original Healing Lotion or cream version.
