I got a 33x10.5 spare and cleaned it up lightly. Sold easy to fold. It doesn't fall out of the hatch completely, but you can get things out pretty easily.

Nice bike rack. My only issue with this unit is if you use the first position/trunk closest to the hitch and expect metal rubbing to scratch your bike. Only use the first 3 positions. Scratched $650.00 bike not happy :(

We bought this for the Wrangler and the Pilot. As others have said, this keeps the gate from opening too far on the Wrangler when attached to the hitch. However, it works great for the pilot and allows the hatch to be raised when the strut is attached to it.

Looking for a good bike rack for my Jeep Wrangler JL and submitted the first two options. This one is perfect. Super durable, don't worry about damaging my bike. Although it is a four-wheeled tank, it is not bulky. I am very satisfied and the price was very good for the product.

We needed to convert our bike rack from a spare tire type to a tow bar type. We bought a couple of beach cruisers which were very heavy and needed a stronger stand. This holds 4 bikes at once. 2 beach cruisers and 2 10 speed cruisers. No problems, minimal shaking and very reliable. We went on 3 hour trips with them and no problems. Love it.

Great bike rack. I have to say that the weakest part of the design is the lower hinge axis. When loading the rack with bikes, the pivot allows the top of the rack to flex. This makes it nearly impossible to remove and reinsert the security pin when you want to lower the strut to access the trunk. This rack can be fitted with some bushings or a real pivot point to support the weight of the rack.

It seems to be of good quality. Fits full length kids bike. It can be folded so you can open the back door. I have a Wrangler 04 with a full size tailgate as a spare. The tailgate does not release the collapsed shelf. It partially opens to allow access, but does not fully open. In order to fully open the bike carrier, it must be removed. It's ok, but the bike rack uses a bolt and nut for the hitch, which makes it less wobbly. You can use a regular needle to make things easier, but it wobbles.

I have read many reviews about this shelf and I am very satisfied with its functionality and quality. Racks in this style would add length, weight and cost to the rear end. Thus, the outboard variant was the only variant that also had more ground clearance. The hardest part was finding the right fit for a camper with a large rear spare tire rack. + The models didn't have enough clearance, even the swivel mounts I tried.
