Excellent sound, good looks and comfortable to wear

This device exceeded my expectations. I used to have an original IM3 (should be over 3 years old) and the new unit sounds much, much better. The IM 600 is easy to use, compact, lightweight and loud enough to be enjoyed around the room. The lack of a radio and the high price ($399) cannot be justified. I found the FM radio worked great with the antenna out and the sound was crystal clear. At first my remote wouldn't switch to the next song on the iPod, but the device wasn't properly dockedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • For pensioners

THAT'S COOL! on Portable Speakers and Docks

I have a 600 square foot apartment. This is exactly what I needed. The sound quality is excellent. What you need to know when buying.1. Follow the instructions - let it charge for about 3 hours.2. Went to Target and bought an Energizer 2025 battery for the remote. You might think the remote control isn't working when the battery might be dead. 3. For the remote to work, it must be on the Source screen. where it says "IPOD". 4. With the remote control, you can move forward and backward according

I like the iM600 best in audio docks

I underestimated the convenience of a Li-Ion powered speaker kit. It's so nice to be able to take it anywhere, listen to music there for HOURS, and then charge it back up when I put it back "at home". No fiddling with cables or changing batteries. The sound quality is excellent here. In my estimation, this is the best you can get from a device of this size without spending a LOT more or having much larger speakers (which defeats the purpose of portability). A remote control holder on the backโ€ฆ

GREAT sound - Built in battery - Really good product

I bought this in September 2007 and lived (and enjoyed) it for about a year. I first bought this as a gift for our nanny to take to college. I was so impressed with the size and sound that I had to buy one. By the way, she said last year that she liked school too. Pros: Incredible sound. Built-in Li-ion battery (No more buying and carrying "D" size). The FM tuner is also a very useful feature. Cons: Nothing to talk about. It would be nice if there was a case, but I bought a nice inexpensiveโ€ฆ

  • Free for educational purposes

Very useful and versatile speakers, no video output at all

Excellent features: - Excellent sound quality - Good sound level - FM tuner - Docking station and stand foldable - There is a small storage space on the back remote control - With normal use there is none Remote control required only to change FM station presets - Good build quality - Nice design - Portable size and weight - Video output - Very good price! Not so good: - Glossy finish that peels off easily if scratched - Altec Lansing subwoofer discontinued. Very Bad - Won't charge 2ndโ€ฆ

  • Only positive
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Excellent customer service

Altec Lansing inMotion iM600 Firewire Portable Audio System w/iPod Charger (Black)]] I use this unit at our second home, an apartment building in Hawaii where space is at a premium. It replaces the much larger stereo in the guest room. I love everything about it: the sound, the compactness, the rechargeable internal battery so I can take it to the beach and share music with my friends. I use it for my Sandisk MP3 players and even my CD player and laptop (with lousy speakers). The only thingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything great!

  • Expensive

Good value for money

The Altec Lansing inMotion iM600 iPod audio system offers good value for money when compared to similar iPod docks, including the much higher priced one offered by Bose. The iM600 is a very nice system that folds down to a small size for easy portability. The iM600 uses either batteries for real music enjoyment on the go or an electrical outlet. It comes with a small remote control that allows you to store FM radio stations to quickly find the FM radio stations you want. When closed, the remote
