I did a lot of research on these docking stations. It's the first one I've been able to find that has good reviews and works across the entire family of devices of all shapes and sizes. Both of my kids have Revain Fire tablets with a THICK kid-friendly foam sleeve, then we have 3 iPads (one in a thick otter sleeve), a couple of phones and an iPod. This station suits them all.
